Royal insiders suggest King Charles may ban Prince Andrew from all royal family gatherings. The first step appears to be the Duke of York’s withdrawal from plans to go to Sandringham for Christmas.
King Charles Would Have Lowered The Axe If Andrew Hadn’t Backed Out
Andrew discussed the issue with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, and they concluded that they should avoid the annual celebration. Royal insiders claim the Duchess of York played an instrumental role in his decision.
If Andrew had not backed out, King Charles would have informed him that he couldn’t come.
Andrew’s latest scandal involved an alleged Chinese spy, Yang Tengbo. The agent is said to have worked for the Chinese Communist Party. He is believed to be a security threat to Britain.
Andrew’s major faux pas has led insiders to wonder if he will ever appear with the family again in public outside of weddings and funerals.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Andrew has caused embarrassment to the royal family. He had a close association with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Also, there were allegations against him for having sex with a minor, which brought big-time negative publicity.
Because of this, he was stripped of his military titles and patronages. The only two things Prince Andrew has left are his home at Royal Lodge (hanging by a thread) and his membership in the historic Order of the Garter, established by Edward III in England in 1348.
The Order of the Garter is one of the most prestigious honors given to those who have provided “exceptional and loyal service to the crown.”
Prince Andrew has been banned from participating in Order of the Garter’s annual procession service at Windsor Castle in June. However, he still wears the robes and attends a private lunch for members at the castle before the event.
Andrew’s Order Of The Garter Membership Could Be Revoked
Now, insiders suggest Andrew’s troublemaking and indiscretions may result in his ban from that and removal from the Order of the Garter. Only forty members have been removed in 700 years, typically for treason. Others have speculated that Andrew is being bullied and pushed out of the family.
The walk to church on Christmas Day is a private event significant to the royals. Andrew, who is usually welcome, will not be present. It’s one of the few times Andrew is allowed to appear with the royals in a public capacity.
The King wants Andrew to move to Frogmore Cottage and has offered to reinstate Andrew’s security and annual allowance if he downsizes. But Andrew refuses.
Would Charles ban Andrew from all public events? It’s not impossible. He must consider what’s best for the monarchy.
The royal family has had a hard enough year, and they don’t need Andrew’s scandals to ruin their Christmas cheer.
He’s been like a thorn in their side for years, and it’s similar to how Prince Harry and Meghan Markle invite negative attention, only it’s worse with Andrew.
The scandals he’s been involved in are grave, and Charles must be worried that Andrew’s presence could damage the royal family’s image and reputation.
