Can’t these two just get along already? Perhaps not as there’s a new report that says Brad Pitt is getting ready to take his ex-wife Angelina Jolie to court. But it’s not because of their custody battle, but rather because he is suing her for selling their Chateau Miraval Winery to a Russian oligarch. Here’s what you need to know.
In a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles last week, Brad said Angelina had broken their agreement not to sell their interests in Château Miraval without the other’s consent by selling her stake to a unit of Stoli Group, a spirits maker controlled by oligarch Yuri Shefler.

The Oscar-winning couple had in 2008 bought a controlling interest in Miraval, in the village of Correns in south-east France, between Marseille and Nice.
Lawyers for the Oscar-winning actor said Chateau Miraval, comprising home and vineyard in the south of France, had “become Pitt’s passion” and, under his stewardship, had grown into a “multimillion-dollar international success story.”
The court documents, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, state, “Jolie consummated the purported sale without Pitt’s knowledge, denying Pitt the consent right she owed him and the right of the first refusal her business entity owed his.
Brad also claims that per the terms of their divorce, which was finalized in 2019, the couple had a “mutual understanding” that neither of them could sell off their interest in the winery without the other’s consent.
So far Angelina Jolie herself has made no comments about the matter. However, in October she did win a small battle in her ongoing custody war with her ex-husband. That’s because the California Supreme Court shut down the actor’s request to review the California appellate court’s ruling to block Judge John Ouderkirk from overseeing their custody dispute. The ex-couple share six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne.
