AJ McLean, who is best known for being a member of the hit boy band Backstreet Boys, has compared Britney Spears‘ life to that of the late Princess Diana.
Backstreet Boys’ AJ McLean Gives His Take On Britney Spears’ Conservatorship Battle
Britney, for her part, has been locked in a long conservatorship battle with her father, Jamie Spears. With the court proceedings underway, it is hoped that Britney will be able to live a life of independence and gain full autonomy over her estate.
AJ, though, was not surprised to see Britney struggle given the early rise of her career. During an interview on the Pretty Messed Up podcast, AJ said: “As a young person, boy or girl, thrust into this business, it makes your head spin. I would compare the level of insanity with Britney to what happened to Princess Diana.”
Britney has had many tragic moments along the way. She infamously shaved her head in 2008, as it became quite clear she was not in a good frame of mind. Not only that, but she had been admitted into a psychiatric facility. Given that she has been under the control of her father for so long, AJ feels now is the time for her to take charge.
This is especially given her disclosures concerning her father’s incessant control over her relationship with her boyfriend, Sam Asghari. He added: “In my opinion, I think it should have ended a while ago or at least dumbed down a bit. It doesn’t seem fair. I do hope that the resolute is that this poor girl gets her life back.”
There is a strong possibility that the courts will rule in favour of Britney. Public opinion is on her side, while her father did admit that he may have had a hand in his daughter’s struggles. Regardless of whatever happens, AJ just wants the best for all those involved.
He continued: “At the end of the day, the truth will come out…I can’t even imagine as a parent what is going through her mom and her dad’s mind. I want to put out a prayer for all of them.” The only thing that fans can do is wait for the court’s ruling.
