Josh Seiter, a contestant on “The Bachelorette,” passed away. Josh was candid and honest about his battles with mental health. A statement from his family read, “It is with an extremely heavy heart that we share the tragic news of Joshua’s unexpected passing. As all who knew him can attest, Joshua was an incredibly bright light in an increasingly dim world.”
They continue, “His fearless voice and indomitable spirit helped thousands of people in their darkest moments feel just a little less alone. Although our heartache at Joshua’s passing pains us beyond measure, we find comfort knowing that he is finally at peace.”

Joshua’s cause of death is not stated in the message, however a phone number is provided for anyone who may be having a mental health emergency.
Josh has frequently written on social media about his struggles with mental illness. Four days ago, he shared a snapshot of himself smiling with the remark, “Surviving depression and anxiety one day at a time with a smile.”
Over the years, he has been incredibly transparent and upfront about his issues. At one time, he said on social media, “I’m Josh Seiter, and I’m a suicide attempt survivor. I battle OCD, Bipolar Depression, and GAD, but I refuse to give up. What did you survive?”
Josh was a contestant on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season of “The Bachelorette” in 2015; he was dumped after the first week. Josh was 36 years old.
