This is not over yet. There’s a new report that says the death toll could easily rise in the Astroworld concert tragedy, which has so far left 8 dead and a dozen more critically injured, including a 10-year-old boy.

The Astroworld festival, which was planned to run for two nights with artists like Bad Bunny and Young Thug performing at the Saturday event, cancelled its second night show over the casualties. Here’s what you need to know.

Astroworld Tragedy Might See More Deaths In Coming Days

Houston Fire Department Chief Samuel Pena said that the death toll from the concert is expected to rise in the coming days. Speaking to MSNBC, he said, “What we know is that we have eight people who have died as a result of the injuries suffered at at that event. That number may rise, because we did transport more people in critical condition. We took 11 that they were performing CPR on en route to the hospital.”

The victims have not yet been identified, but they range in age from from 16 to 23. More than 300 people were also treated throughout the event Friday at an on-site field hospital.

Pena added that Travis Scott and LiveNation made the call to stop the performance — and cancel Saturday’s program. “They did decide to essentially pull the plug on it when the situation started to escalate,” he said.

The crowd surge, during a performance by the rapper Travis Scott, “caused some panic, and it started causing some injuries,” Pena added.

Night two of Astroworld was canceled in the wake of Friday’s deaths. Scott is next scheduled to headline the Day N Vegas Festival on Saturday, Nov. 13, performing on the main stage from 10:45 to 11:45 p.m.
