On Kylian Mbappe’s birthday, Argentina’s World Cup winning goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez made a mocking gesture of the Frenchman by carrying a baby doll with Mbappe’s face printed on it during the World Cup victory celebrations in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Martinez proudly displayed the Mbappe figurine while standing beside his PSG mate, Lionel Messi, as the two of them celebrated Argentina’s victory. This is not the only occasion that Martinez has provoked Mbappe, though.
During Argentina’s post-victory revelry, he cruelly made fun of Mbappe by demanding a moment of silence for the French player. This came despite him being one of the first people to come to Mbappe after the heartbreaking loss France had suffered.
Not only that, but they were beaming with joy when they were photographed together as the Golden Glove and Golden Boot recipients. And yet, it seems that Martinez was not impressed with what Mbappe had to say prior to the tournament beginning. The striker made it clear that the level of football in Europe was higher than that of South America.
Therefore, that is why European teams have been winning it recently. In response to those comments, Martinez remarked: “He said that the level of South America is lower than the European level because he did not play there.
“If you do not have the experience then it is difficult to comment, but nothing was wrong with what he said. They know we are a world class team and they respect us for that.”
The fans on social media, though, were not impressed by the actions of the goalkeeper. A large number of people felt he came across in a poor manner. After all, Mbappe had scored numerous goals against him. One person wrote: “This bloke is a disgrace to the sport . Fine Martinez @FIFAWorldCup @FIFAcom.”
