Remember when it was not too long ago that Andrew Cuomo and his brother Chris Cuomo were two objects of everything’s adoration? Well, that moment has now turned into a distant memory as calls are growing for the New York state governor to resign following allegations made that he was inappropriate with three women on his staff.

If that weren’t enough, Cuomo is being accused of underreporting the number of deaths that had occurred in nursing homes in New York and when the state was the epicenter of the Covid-19 pandemic, and under his watch. Here’s what you need to know.

Andrew Cuomo Refuses To Resign Even Though He Has Very Few Friends Now

Gov. Andrew Cuomo made it pretty clear that he’s not going anywhere, regardless of what anyone has to say about it. This, despite nearly 30 democrats and GOP New York lawmakers are now supporting his removal. “I’m not going to resign,” Cuomo said at a briefing Wednesday.

Along with everyone else who is calling for his resignation, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said Tuesday that if the allegations against the governor are true, “he cannot govern.”

So far Gov. Cuomo shrugged off the demands, pointing to New York’s many pressing needs that he must address, including the state’s budget, saying that will be able to work on the budget while cooperating with the state attorney general’s investigations of the scandals.

Earlier in the week, Andrew’s brother Chris Cuomo said on his evening CNN show that he can’t cover any of the allegations that hade been made against the governor, simply because they are related. Yet, Andrew was a guest on Chris’ show many times during the pandemic. The Cuomo brothers even did a comedy skit with a giant q-tip at one point.

Chris said, “Obviously I am aware of what’s going on with my brother. And obviously I cannot cover it, because he is my brother. Now, of course CNN has to cover it. They have covered it extensively and they will continue to do so.”

“I have always cared very deeply about these issues and profoundly so,” Cuomo, 50, added. “There’s a lot of news going on that matters also, so let’s get after that.”
