CNN Primetime host Chris Cuomo might very well be the most hated man on television. That is, if you read everything that his critics have to say about him these days. That’s because people are apparently tired of his “Do I as I say, but not as I do” mantra, as many critics have pointed out that Cuomo does more preaching to the nation than actual journalism on his supposed primetime news show. Here’s what you need to know.
Earlier this year when Chris Cuomo tested positive for the coronavirus, he was spotted not in quarantine with his family while they were inspecting their home in the Hamptons. That was also when Chris got into an ugly shouting match with a bicyclist who pointed out his hypocrisy.
CNN Primetime News: Is Chris Cuomo The Most Hated Man On Television?
If that weren’t enough, Cuomo was reportedly spotted socializing mask-free at a private members club. “He was not social distancing and was walking around indoors, shaking hands and greeting people without a mask.
He was just hanging with Brooke Shields’ husband. It’s a double standard when his brother [Gov. Andrew Cuomo] is attacking the restaurant industry and implementing all these senseless rules,” a source told Page Six.
This has led many of his critics to point out that Chris has not been practicing what he preaches. If that weren’t enough, it looks like his family members are not big fans of masks, either.
To make matters worse on Chris, he was torn apart on Twitter after he attacked President Trump’s return to the White House amid his battle with coronavirus. Cuomo specifically questioned Trump’s timeline even though his own coronavirus timeline was scrutinized earlier this year.
He famously videotaped his “official reentry” into normal society after recovering from Covid-19 back in April, claiming he had been stuck in his basement for weeks, even though he was spotted in the Hamptons a week before.
And now Chris got into another heated debate with President Trump’s campaign spokesperson, Tim Murtaugh. While the two clashed over the Trump administrations’ response to the coronavirus, things got personal when Murtaugh accused Cuomo of mocking the pandemic with the giant Q-tip prop he used to tease his brother.
Of course, it didn’t take very long for fans and critics to respond to Chris Cuomo’s interview with Tim Murtagh, if it can even be called that. Some comments included, “As a news anchor that was overly aggressive and improper. Seems like he invited the guest with the intention of turning it into a circus. This is not the first time Cuomo did it,” along with, “Oh but he thinks he is the judge and jury. That’s the problem!”
Another critic put it this way, “How does he still have a job since he’s not practicing what he’s preaching through his network? Isn’t CNN worried about looking like hypocrites?”
