Shane Dawson making a #FreeBritney documentary?

By now we’re all well-acquainted with the #FreeBritney movement and the fact that Britney Spears has been under a conservatorship for 13 years, much to her mental and emotional detriment. We’ve also all seen the Framing Britney documentary by now in which all of Britney’s past mental health struggles were showcased, a fact that she didn’t like.

We’re also aware that Shane Dawson exists and has basically been cancelled off the internet for so long that he’s pretty much no longer relevant. So, how would these two even begin to cross paths, you ask?

There’s been talk of a Shane Dawson #FreeBritney documentary.

Now, before you completely shout it down, his very first (and I do mean first, like very first) mini-doc on Jeffree Star was actually pretty good and pretty well done. (I am not talking about the 6 part documentary, rather just the mini-doc that he did.) If he stuck to that sort of format for the #FreeBritney documentary then, it might actually stand a chance of working.

Granted, Shane might try to go for broke and get himself un-cancelled by doing an actual serious documentary on the movement, but the only thing that would be questionable there would be his sources. What sort of souces would he actually have and what sort of insight would he bring to Britney’s situation?

One would only hope that the documentary would be done carefully, as to not cause actual harm to Britney herself, maybe waiting until after all court cases are said and done and then being the first one to jump in and make a documentary – okay that would be something if he were the first one to jump on the bandwagon after Britney’s actually free. That would actually be really shrewd on his part if he did that.

However, making a documentary that’s authorized by Britney herself (the woman who hates interviews) and making a documentary on the movement are two different things, and apparently Shane Dawson has expressed making a documentary on the actual movement. In which case, sources would be easier to curate, but aside from discussing the tea – who would he get?

It’s doubtful that anyone from Britney’s actual team would want to talk to Shane Dawson, a problematic, cancelled youtuber. However, people that have headed up the protests, some drama channels, and a few legal or psychological experts might want to weigh in on this documentary, to just give us sort of a ‘behind the scenes’ feel without actually having to go behind the scenes and cultivate some sources close to Britney.

Right now, the sources that would be closest to her are completely unreliable, her family is completely toxic, unless Shane pulled one out and actually managed to get in contact with Britney’s sons – literally the only innocent parties in her entire family.

However since Britney’s sons are minors, I do not think (for their sake) that that will be happening, and unless they really want to do that when they’re 18, it shouldn’t be encouraged – even though the tea would be absolutely fascinating.

Right now, there’s just whispers of this documentary happening, and at this point unless Shane has taken advantage of some classes on skillshare all we can foresee this documentary being is Shane in a golfcart following Sl04N around. Stay tuned!!!
