Lynne Spears Has ‘Mixed Feelings’ Over Her Daughter Britney Spears’ Conservatorship

Even though the rest of the world agrees that it’s about time Britney Spears is given her freedom back, her mother Lynne Spears is holding back on that idea. In fact, sources close to the singer say that her mother has “mixed feelings” over her conservatorship battle.

Britney’s father, Jamie Spears, has had complete control over the singer’s finances and many other aspects of her life since 2008. Here’s what you need to know.

According to Page Six, Lynne feels rather “torn” about her daughter’s situation, which apparently led to a fight and then a 911 call the night before Britney’s heartbreaking testimony.

When asked about the conservatorship, Lynne told The New Yorker – in a hushed whisper – “I got mixed feelings about everything. I don’t know what to think. It’s a lot of pain, a lot of worry.”

The New Yorker also says that Britney Spears called 911 the night before the testimony as she wanted to report herself as a victim of abuse. The call has since been confirmed by the Ventura County law enforcement department.

During her court hearing, Britney blamed her family for the worsened mental state due to the tight control they have over her conservatorship.

She said, “I would honestly like to sue my family, to be totally honest with you.I also would like to be able to share my story with the world, and what they did to me, instead of it being a hush-hush secret to benefit all of them. I want to be able to be heard on what they did to me by making mekeep this in for so long. It is not good for my heart. I’ve been so angry, and I cry every day.”

During her court hearing, Britney made it clear that she wants her conservatorship to end immediately without any testing and does not want to attend therapy twice a week. She also wants to handpick her own attorney.

As many fans already know, Britney Spears’ conservatorship is split into two parts – one is for her estate and financial affairs, the other is for her as a person. Under this legal agreement, the singer has not controlled her finances since 2008.

Britney has previously made her feelings about the court-ordered conservatorship known through her lawyer Samuel Ingham, including last year, when he said she was scared of her father and would not perform again while he controlled her life.
