CNN anchor Don Lemon said some things on Thursday in a conversation with Chris Cuomo that left a lot of people confused and wondering what is going on in his head. Lemon, who has been an obvious critic of President Donald Trump has come out and said the following,
“I had to get rid of a lot of people in my life because sometimes you’ve just got to let them go. I think they have to hit rock bottom like an addict, right? And they have to want to get help, they have to want to know the truth, they have to want to live in reality, they have to want to be responsible not only for other people’s lives but for their lives.”

This is going to obviously be very divisive, as we are all people and Americans. Disagreeing and arguing with people is something we do and do well. However, “getting rid” of “people you love” because they differ in your opinion puts you in an echo chamber and this can be dangerous.
At the end of the day, people aren’t defined by their political opinions. And dumping friends or “loved ones” because of this seems ridiculous. The days of civil discourse seem to be gone, and if we can’t even be friends with the other sides, how are we going to talk and have conversations about the country?
This is a terrible example of how far politics has encroached in our lives and how people are willing to fight tooth and nail, and even get rid of people they supposedly “love” because of political opinions.
Don Lemon is only promoting the extremism of political affiliation and encouraging people to dump their friends, family, and loved ones because of stupidity and poor reasoning.
