John Cena may not be an active member of the WWE roster anymore, but it would seem as though that he still has a very close eye on the action that is taking place during lockdown. Cena was last seen in a WWE ring at WrestleMania, as he came up against Bray Wyatt in the Firefly Funhouse match.
There have been rumours that the Cenation leader could be set to return to the WWE at some point in the future, and there have been two superstars that have really stood out from the crowd according to an interview that he gave with SI.
WWE News: Bray Wyatt Excelling
In the interview, Cena admitted that he believes Bray Wyatt has been one of the standout stars during this pandemic era. It isn’t hard to argue against that pick from Cena, as Wyatt has been consistently involved in some of the most interesting segments on weekly television, and will likely be included in one of the biggest matches at the upcoming SummerSlam PPV.
Cena knows Wyatt very well after coming up against him on numerous times throughout his career, but he has been hitting it out of the park over recent weeks with his feud against Braun Strowman.
Fan engagement is at an all-time high level with this match now, as Alexa Bliss is also involved. Meanwhile, Strowman’s character has changed somewhat over the past couple of weeks, which has also increased the interest in him.
WWE News: Seth Rollins Also Standing Out
Cena also admitted that he believes that Seth Rollins has done a great job of evolving over the past couple of months to adjust to crowdless arenas. Rollins was involved in one of the best matches at Mania, as he and Kevin Owens did their best to steal the show.
However, his momentum has continued to build over the past couple of weeks, as the feud between himself and Dominik is certainly one of the most interesting on Raw.
Rollins was last seen on Raw last week as he was brutally attacking Rey Mysterio’s son ahead of their upcoming match against each other at SummerSlam this coming Sunday.
Fan engagement in this rivalry is sky-high. However, other superstars have certainly excelled during this uncertain time too, with Bayley, Sasha Banks and Drew McIntyre being the notable names.
