CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers find that star Hunter King (Summers Newman) is opening up about a special routine that she shares with her co-star Michael Mealor (Kyle Abbott). The actress also talks about her diet and self-acceptance. Here’s what she has to say.
Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, the beautiful blonde says, “I’m up for work early so I’m not normally hungry and I just have coffee. When I get to work, I make Michael [Mealor, Kyle] go to lunch with me. We usually go to Erewhon [Organic Grocer & Cafe] and get something healthy, like chicken and veggies. If we go out for lunch, I’ll have protein and veggies. I have lots of snacks in my dressing room, like protein bars and 100-calorie nut packs of almonds and cashews. That’s also how I get people to come to hang out with me. Michael is like, ‘Hey, can I come to grab a snack?’ I’m thinking, ‘Yes! It’s working!’ because it’s more my way of hanging out with my friends.”

Now, as far as how the rest of her day looks like, Hunter says that she never denies herself the foods that she loves. She explained, “For dinner, sometimes it’s a lot of carbs because I am a carb queen, and that’s okay. It’s all about balance. I’m trying to limit my red meat intake. I don’t truly love meat, but I have a lot of allergies that make it impossible for me to go full vegan. But usually, I’ll do chicken or turkey or I’ll have a meat substitute.”
Hunter also says that when it comes to body image, she advises her fans to love the way they look, regardless of how they see themselves in the mirror. Self-acceptance and love are what matters the most, right? She added, “Love your body no matter what. I always hated my legs because they’re muscular, but I’m learning how to embrace them. You have to accept there are things that you can’t change.”
