La Doña spoilers for January 13th reveal the semana de estreno is here. The premiere episode brought back familiar faces, while also introducing us to new ones. It also brought some interesting developments, and tragedy. Let’s take a look at the first episode of season two.
La Doña spoilers: The returns
We weren’t surprised to see Monica Hernandez (Danna Paola) return. She is, after all, supposed to be a big motivator this season. However, we were surprised to an extent to see Regina Sandoval (Andrea Martí) appear. She’s Altagracia Sandoval’s (Aracely Arambula) sister. Apparently, she’s been working closely with Monica and Saul Aguirre (David Chocarro) in the Renacer (rebirth) Foundation. Things got off to an action-packed start with them, as their car is attacked by an unknown assailant. La Doña spoilers reveal this leads to big developments later. But for now, let’s just say they have a nice relationship and we like the almost motherly role Regina’s taken on since Altagracia’s supposed death.
We also have Karen Valarde (Mayra Sierra) return, a character we aren’t feeling at the moment. She’s working the Rainbow killer case, but other events in this episode will soon make us think she’s just here to be a foil for Altagracia. Like in a lot of the superhero movies and similar things, she’ll be obsessed with taking down our lead. We’re expecting a lot of bias to come after watching this and episode two. So, what’s going on with our believed-dead protagonist?

La Doña spoilers: Reclaiming her place
Altagracia is determined to get back everything that a character named José Luis Navarrete (David Zepeda) took from her. After Altagracia’s crimes were exposed, the cops confiscated a lot of what she owned, including the construction company José now runs. When we first see Altagracia, she’s at a celebration in Rio de Janeiro where she pretends to be a masked dancer. However, she soon reveals her identity and confronts him. Altagracia and her men take money and a phone contact list with them before they go, something that will have him gunning for her later. But her mission won’t be easy.
La Doña spoilers: Past sins
Her past will haunt her. La Doña spoilers indicate the relatives of Los Monkeys know she’s alive and they’re planning to take her down. This was a group that raped her and killed her parents and boyfriend. Years later, after building herself up into a force in Mexico, she hunted them down and killed them, once by one.
One surprise in all this is, she’s actually somewhat friendly with the lone member of this group who survived: Daniel Llamas (Diego Soldano). He was the one who allowed Altagracia to live by pretending to stab her, and later founded the Renacer Foundation to atone for his past sins. He ultimately turned himself in, and he’s apparently been feeding whatever information he gets about Monica to Altagracia.
The latest news is bad. Saul is missing, and Monica survived an attack. In a nice move that shows there’s a heart to this hardened Doña, Altagracia puts her own safety and freedom aside to return home and help her daughter find Saul. This will eventually lead to his dead body, and Altagracia’s arrest. It’s a heartbreaking scene that will have a huge impact throughout the season. Stay tuned to see what happens next.
