Cecil Ray Baker, who is best known from American Idol, was arrested for allegedly breaking into his ex-girlfriend Mariah Lopez’s home.

According to reports, he was apprehended by police and released on $15,000 bail. So what could have made Cecil commit such a heinous act? Well, he and his ex do have a long history. They share a daughter together, and it seems that Mariah’s refusal to allow Cecil to see her (on his terms) was the reason for the break-in.
While Mariah admitted to not letting him enter, she had more grievances towards Cecil’s conduct. Mariah claimed that Cecil forced his way in and left as he “struck her in the face with a palm heel.” And things continued to look more ominous for Cecil, as this all occurred in the presence of Cecil’s sister. Not only did she become a crucial witness, she clearly did not mind dobbing her brother in.
As for Mariah, she had plenty more to say. In a post to her fans on TikTok, she blasted those accusing victims of making things up. She said: “I’ve had enough. This is why victims never come forward bc y’all try so hard to tear them down.” She then shared some messages and photos, which showed that there had been some violence, as there were some bruises on her body.
She added: “I know your family has seen your behaviour, and honestly, it is disgusting that they are OK with it and trying to deny it. There were times where it was hard to leave. You would keep reeling me back in.” Despite the clear animosity that Mariah has towards Cecil, her primary focus has always been her daughter.
Although she has not said whether she will deny Cecil any access to seeing her, she has vowed to continue proclaiming the truth in the hope that Cecil can reform. She continued: “The truth will eventually come out. But in all honesty, I just hope that you decide to do better. I hope one day that you change and hold yourself accountable. I hope one day you can change and flourish into the person that you need to be.”
