Alec Baldwin clearly shot Halyna Hutchins, according to three crew members who claim to have been there. They have just filed a new lawsuit, saying it was a tragedy waiting to happen.

In a lawsuit against Alec and the “Rust” production as a whole, Ross Addiego, Doran Curtin, and Reese Price, who claim to have worked as the dolly operator, set costumer, and key grip on the film, respectively, allege that they were three of the seven individuals present on the church set the day the shooting took place.

The plaintiffs claim that numerous safety precautions were disregarded throughout the entire filming, which they claim contributed to the killing and emotionally and physically rocked them to their core.

For instance, the three crew members hold the producers primarily responsible for their use of “operable firearms” on 17 of the 21 planned filming days, despite having the option to use replicas, rubber prop guns, or special effects instead. They also list numerous alleged safety shortcuts taken on set, such as failing to thoroughly investigate earlier accidental leaks that they claim happened before that critical day.

Additionally, the crew claims that by hiring armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed despite the fact that they claim she “lacked essential experience,” was a huge mistake and Baldwin screwed up by bringing her on set. The complaint claims Dave Halls neglected to follow safety procedures. They claim that despite this, Alec continued to move forward with them. As a result, Hutchins was killed in 2021. The staff members claim they were compelled to act and help when Halyna and director Joel Souza were shot during a tech rehearsal. They claim this traumatized them and continues to haunt them today. They are now seeking unspecified damages while suing for negligence and deliberate infliction of emotional anguish.

What do you think? Should Baldwin be convicted of murder or manslaughter and in this lawsuit just another issue? Let us know in the comments below.
