ABC ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers indicate GH isn’t always the nicest place. And we’re not just talking about the Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) tenure. There has been plenty of personal drama going on there, between both visitors and the people working there. We’ve even got a coverup going on between Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton). But we think Thursday was a low point. Let’s take a look.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: To be fair
First, we have to say that the animosity some have toward Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) is justified. At least from Epiphany Johnson’s (Sonya Eddy) and Elizabeth’s point of view. Elizabeth was barely making anything with the cut hours, while Epiphany was forced out of patient interaction, something that is her greatest joy in the job.
Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman), however, can have several seats in our opinion. Her firing and Monica Quartermaine’s (Leslie Charleson) were fired rightfully. Yes, Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) was a terrible person. But we do think genuine fear for Wiley after what she went through as a child motivated her refusal to the surgery.
Forging documents to give a child surgery without both parents’ approval would be considered a reason to fire, no question. It sucks that she and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) couldn’t agree on the surgery, but it’s a situation we’re sure a lot of others have been in.
And there’s no way of predicting either outcome, so as long as the opposing parent really believes saying no is the right thing, we don’t think others should step in and pull something shady like that.
We’ll also grant them something else. Britt is nicknamed the Britch, and we doubt that’s not with good reason. Britt’s even admitted to making mistakes and not always being the best person. However, she’s trying now.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Making an effort
Thursday, ‘General Hospital’ spoilers reveal Britt was hurt to see the GH crew hanging out together. Bobbie, Elizabeth, Epiphany, Amy Driscoll (Risa Dorken), and Dinah were all letting off some steam with new co-chief of staff Terry Randolph (Cassandra James).
She approached the table and gave it a good effort, but was mostly met with derision and disrespect. Even Terry didn’t really stand up for her at all. Although, she did speak privately with Britt a moment.
After she pointed out getting in good with the others isn’t going to be an overnight thing, Britt decided to take her advice and do the work to make things better. She called Epiphany over and apologized for what happened.
Britt even went so far as to give Epiphany a free pass to go up one side of her and down the other. One would think that after that (and Terry’s private chat) that Terry and Epiphany would be a little more gracious. Wrong.
ABC ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: High school, much?
See, Britt bought them all a round of shots as another gesture. Not only did the whole table basically talk about how it’ll take more than that, they loudly toasted GH right in front of Britt. No one, not even Terry, stopped Britt as she was leaving to say thank you.
They’d even talked about sending the drinks back at first. Eventually, again, they did toast with them, but Dinah said she wasn’t drinking hers. While Britt was going by. It seemed a bit immature to us and didn’t endear any of those involved. If this was the writers’ way of making Britt more sympathetic, they’ve done it at the expense of the other characters.
