ABC ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers finds that Antonio Sabato Jr. (Jagger Cates) believes that he has been blacklisted from the entertainment industry because of his endorsement and support for President Donald Trump. However, many daytime television fans believe that there might have been another reason why Antonio is no longer working in Hollywood. The former soap star says that he was forced to leave Hollywood because he couldn’t make ends meet anymore. Here’s what you need to know.
“I had to sell everything,” Sabato revealed in a phone interview with Variety from his new home in Florida. “I had to pay all my debts. I was blacklisted. All my representatives left me, from agents to managers to commercial agents. I literally had to move, find a new job to survive and take care of my kids. It’s been terrible. It’s mind-blowing. It’s a disgrace. It’s tough, because if you’re in that environment in Hollywood and you have something to say that they don’t like, they’re going to let you know.”

With that said, it seems as though a lot of fans had quite a few things to see about Antonio and his current situation. Quite a few daytime television viewers shared comments such as, “Uh, the acting career you had died way before you came out as a Trump supporter,” along with, “When I think of blacklisting, that means no jobs at all, no one wants to work with you, no one wants to affiliate with you. To be sure, it doesn’t look like he’s had a contract role on a single series, but he does have features, single episodes, and things like that. He also had a few movies. So, to me it seems that he wasn’t getting enough work in Hollywood to support his preferred lifestyle.”
Another fan put it this way, “If anything, Trump association helps raise conservatives’ profiles in their circles. If he couldn’t take that controversy and at least turn it into Hallmark Movie jobs…that’s on him and his agent! Also, the fact that he’s utterly devoid of talent.”
With that said, the fans have definitely spoken. While there might be a chance that Antonio will one day find some work in the entertainment industry again, it doesn’t look like daytime television fans are eager to see him in the soap world. Of course, anything can happen at any time. We’ll definitely be rooting for Antonio and his comeback. Fingers crossed!
