In case you’re wondering, women were not the only victims of this cult. They brainwashed their male members as well into some really militant, angry men. The counterpart to the Jness tracks were called the SOP tracks, SOP stood for “Society of Protectors”. In a few recordings of these SOP classes you get actual lectures advocating for rape, saying that if you randomly grab a woman and have sex with her, then they will enjoy it. So many men applauded, it was horrifying.
One man, who was a Proctor (which is by the way, the only way to make money at NXIVM, to rise up through the ranks and become a Proctor) at the organization touted it as “the Harvard of trying to relate to women”.

They said that NXIVUM used the same kind of indoctrination techniques as ISIS, which seemed to include letting the guys physically abuse each other as much as possible. Their philosophy was “It won’t hurt the next time.” after having their followers beat each other up.
Raniere said that people bond through pain, not through happiness, which is just sort of disturbing. Where was he going with this? He wanted to weaponize his followers. That’s right, you heard me, he wanted to weaponize his followers. At first this was just for the men of NXIVM, but then it turned into a 6 day intensive for the women called the SOP Complete program.
That’s where things got scary.
Rainiere touted this as a course in discipline because the women did not grow up like little boys, and for these six days they were going to be treated exactly like little boys. They were encouraged to wear baggy clothes so as not to draw attention to their bodies, and then they were forced to do all kinds of what seemed to be army basic training exercises.
They were taught that as women they couldn’t just ‘get away’ with things, and the victims were not allowed to eat, drink, or even go to the bathroom without express permission. They would give the women mantras to shout across the room like, “I am nothing and I have no real emotions.”, what Raniere was trying to do was achieve compliance by making the women hate themselves so much that they felt they had no alternative.
India said at the end of it, her and a lot of the other women loved their male mentors, and she still hasn’t figured out how they could have ever accepted that level of abuse.
They would practice things called ‘Readiness drills’, for $50 a month the victims would be on a team and whenever the team leader texted you the word ‘Ready’ you were to respond with a certain period of time. If one of the members was late, then they got to do a penance and sometimes that included taking cold showers, or getting up at 4AM in the morning just to stand around.
Rick Ross was singled out by the cult as an enemy and at one point they even made a phony client to hire him for an intervention to get him out on a cruise ship. He said to this day he doesn’t know what their intention was with that.
