Days of Our Lives Recap Monday, May 13 Recap: Lani Oversteps In Big Way, Lies To Keep Ben Away Behind Rafe’s Back – Deceitful Ways Come With Hefty Price To Pay
Days of Our Lives spoilers: Liar, liar
Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) is still reeling from how the Holly kidnapping turned out, and harboring a little guilt as he prepares to go in and sign a statement about the incident. Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal) will again have none of this and reinforces the idea of being part of little David’s life. In fact, after she casts her vote for Abe Carver (James Reynolds), she’s planning to visit Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) to discuss it. There’s just one problem…

Lani has also been spending her day comforting a guy carrying guilt: Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering). She thinks wallowing at home will do no good (and supports the decision he made, btw). She suggests taking David out for the day, and Rafe eventually agrees. While he’s inside changing the baby, Ciara arrives to have that talk. Lani almost immediately shuts the idea down, but Ciara points out that is technically Rafe’s decision to make. She wants to bring Ben by, but Lani claims the baby is running a fever and is being kept inside for the day.
Later on, Ben and Ciara are out and about when they catch sight on Lani, Rafe, and the baby and realize Ciara’s been lied to.
Days of Our Lives spoilers: Suspicion and stupid
Ted Laurent (Gilles Marini) dodged a bullet today, while also possibly earning a new adversary as he continues to have doubts about Xander Cook (Paul Telfer). Earlier in the episode, Hope overhears him placing a call to the morgue to find out in the bodies brought in were identified yet. Hope asks if he has reason to believe the child wasn’t Holly, but he says that he saw the kidnapper put her into the car himself. Hope then deduces (wrongly. Again.) that he must be doubting himself like almost everyone else involved in this.
Later on, Ted has more trouble. Ben had arrived to sign his statement, but with Ted not in the office, Ben decides to search for a pen and get it over with now. While he’s looking, he comes across a file with Xander’s picture on it. Ted comes in, and Ben wonders what Xander would have to do with the kidnapping. Ted gets defensive, then explains he was dealing with some old files. Ben lets it go for now and signs the statement, but later, he tells Ciara he thought Ted had overreacted to the situation.
DOOL spoilers: Nice try
As predicted, Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) doesn’t take well to Xander coming along and trying to claim her as his once more. She hates him and wants a divorce, as he no longer has blackmail material on her. Xander begs to disagree and produces said recording. Okay, two things. One, are they sure that is actually the recording? After all, he didn’t play the thing. Two, with the state Nicole’s in, should she really care? Anyway, she tries to take it from him and Xander tucks the recording away in a pocket. Why she and Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) don’t just jump him and destroy the tape, we don’t know. What we do know is, Nicole ends up storming off.

Brady later calls Xander out on being cold enough to pull something like this when the woman’s just lost her child. He thinks that if Xander was really going to return the recording to Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) as a peace offering, he’d just hand it over to Brady right now. Xander, always turning the worst to his advantage, says he’ll need something in return. Guess Titan might be gaining a new employee?
Also today…
Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) is horrified to learn that Nicole blames Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) for Holly’s death. She wants to help, but Eric asks her not to push. Instead, she and Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder) will be there for him and Nicole. Also, Hope is upset to see that Rafe has taken off his ring when she sees him, Lani, and the baby having a meal out.
