Youtuber Emma Chamberlain was called out during the last few days for her silence on the political climate. A lot of youtubers and tiktokers alike had, in the last few months, used their respective platforms in order to encourage people to get out and vote.
Some had even gone so far as to let people know which way they were voting, but not Emma. She stayed amazingly silent during these months which caused a few people to get a little suspicious as to what her political leanings actually were.

Someone managed to find a copy of what looked to be Emma’s voter’s registration which had her registered as a Republican. That caused a lot of her followers to get up in arms because they thought she was a Trump supporter.
Now, that’s not necessarily true, not all Republicans are Trump supporters, in fact quite a few switched just for this election. (If you want proof, look at Georgia.) But this was the assumption that a lot of fans were making, and her followers on twitter got so salty about it that Emma ended up deleting her twitter account.
However, on instagram, is where Emma finally addressed the controversy. She said that she did not really like to get embroiled in internet drama, and that today was no exception.
After the results were announced she made sure to say that this was a time for celebrating, so Republican or not, she’s happy with the way things have gone down and she’s not a sore loser about things. If you think about it, President 45 could learn a lot from studying this post on instagram, but I digress.
Emma did not, in fact, confirm which party she was registed as, or which party she voted for, but in the end, does it matter? The results have been decided so at this point, everyone’s vote is their own.
While we may still question her political leanings, we can’t question the spirit of her post, which was overwhelmingly positive. Emma’s willing to embrace change, and that’s a lesson we could all benefit from during this time. Stay tuned!!!
