Days of Our Lives spoilers relate that Julie Williams has been on Days of Our Lives since 1965! She has an amazing history on the show and we want to share that with those who haven’t been fans for long. Several actresses played this role until they finally found the perfect star, Susan Seaforth Hayes. She took over the role in 1968. She has been nominated for many Daytime Emmys and she even received a Lifetime Achievement Award last year! She just celebrated her 50th anniversary on the show in December 2018.

Julie’s life has been a bit crazy even since she was young. She was pretty rebellious as a teenager and when her parents moved to Europe, Julie moved in with her grandparents who are Tom and Alice Horton. Julie married Doug Williams back in the 70’s after a long and confusing relationship. Doug had to move away from Salem because of his business troubles.

Julie had a very tough time when he was away. She was badly burnt and when she has reconstructive surgery, so that Doug wouldn’t leave her, it failed. She then found out that Doug had married Lee Dumonde. He did end up remarrying Julie and they went on an amazing cruise around the world. Once the cruise was over though, Doug revealed that they had split up again.
Julie finally came back to Salem in 1990. Doug faked his death in order to get her back. They got back together and decided to start traveling the world again. Doug and Julie would leave the show and then come back for special events. Julie came back for the loss of her son David and when Bo died. She reopened Doug’s place with Chloe and wasn’t too happy about this partnership. No matter what she has been through, Julie always shows how strong and devoted to her love, Doug.
Julie is one of those characters that has been popular since the moment she came onto the show. We are so happy that she is still on the show and able to celebrate many more years on Days of Our Lives. Stay tuned to the show to see just when she will pop up again!
