There is a lawsuit being filed against Tati Westbrook by her former business partner, Halo Beauty for fraud. Apparently in a very sneaky move, after they originally made a deal with Halo Beauty to be exclusive they went behind their back and released a makeup pallette without telling Halo about it and now, the guy behind Halo Beauty, a Mr. Swanson, judging from legal documents, is mad. But here’s where Bye Sister comes in, apparently there was originally a plan to release hair, skin and nail vitamins.
Tati made this big promise to Halo Beauty that she had influencer friends who could sweeten this deal by endorsing only her own product, so one night at dinner she gathered Laura, Jeffree Star, and James Charles at dinner and they discussed the deal.

Jeffree mentioned that a rival company, Sugar Bear Hair was paying $200,000 to any influencer who would endorse their products. Tati told her friends that no, she had plans to release her own line of hair, skin, and nail vitamins and to wait until thye came out and to not, under any circumstances, accept the deal offered by Sugar Bear Hair.

I’m not sure if this was because James is just young or because on to of that $200,000 deal Sugar Bear Hair also offered a chance to go to Coachella, which is going to turn any young influencer’s head. When this happened, James was only 19.
He didn’t realize the impact that this might have on Tati’s business, or maybe he did and he just didn’t care, he seems to be a pretty shrewd businessman so far. Either way, the next thing we know, he’s off endorsing Sugar Bear Hair vitamins and has accepted their deal to go to Coachella as detailed in the now deleted Bye Sister, video.
Tati was livid. The only thing Tati was concerned about was the dollar signs involved and honestly, I get that. She thought that her bottom line was going to be affected. Although, I don’t see why she had to throw James’ character under the bus in the process.
Bye Sister, was not really about James Charles’ character, it was about the fact that he cut into Tati’s bottom line. And I would be willing to bet that a lot of the cancellations that have happened over the last couple of years boiled down to one issue: Money.
