Days of Our Lives Recap Wednesday, May 1: Claire Gets Fire-Happy Again After Getting Kicked Out of Her Own House For Hayley Sets Her Off In Big Way!

Days of Our Lives recap for Wednesday, May 1 indicates that Hayley Chen (Thia Megia) might have made a fatal mistake, Lane Price (Sal Stowers) makes a slip in front of Laverne, and Abe Carver (James Reynolds) might be out of luck in more ways than one. If you missed the Days of Our Lives spoilers this Wednesday, catch up with your daily Days of Our Lives recap.

Days of Our Lives Recap Wednesday, May 1: Claire Gets Fire-Happy Again After Getting Kicked Out of Her Own House For Hayley Sets Her Off In Big Way!

Claire Brady (Olivia Rose Keegan) has been a bit touchy lately, and with kind of a good reason, even though she brought it on herself. In all the stress, there is a bright spot for her: Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) has informed her and JJ Deveraux (Casey Moss) that there is no evidence linking that lighter she’d had to the near-fatal fire Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal) was caught in. She’s still edgy about the Hayley/Tripp Dalton (Lucas Adams) thing, though, and when Eve Donovan (Kassie DePaiva) sees her with the lighter, she scolds Claire and says she needs to get rid of it. She thinks that if Claire ends up losing her cool again, there won’t be an out like this time.

.@greg_vaughan talks about being caught in a love triangle. Then, after two can't-miss clips, @linseygodfrey, @victoriakonefal, @ericmartsolf and @KassieDePaiva join for a celebratory Emmy roundtable.

Funny she should say that. Hayley has now been given the all-clear to stay in the country, but there’s a catch. They’ll be watched very closely for any slip-ups, and that could take years. Claire doesn’t take to that well, so Hayley leaves them alone to talk.

But wait! There’s more. Seems Laverne has decided to stop by and questions Claire’s presence in the loft. Hayley, overhearing this, thinks fast and brings down a box for Claire because she’s moving out. Claire plays along, probably out of complete shock, and Laverne is satisfied—for now. Claire’s not, though. As soon as the agent leaves, she flips out on Hayley for saying that and (rightfully) questions why she should have to move out of her own home.

For once, we are completely on her side there. This is way too much to ask of someone. And it might just be the breaking point, as Claire later rips up Hayley and Tripp’s wedding photo, then takes a lighter to Hayley’s image.

Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Baby crazed

Speaking of our friendly neighborhood ICE agent, she comes across Lani in town and coos over little David and compliments Lani on her baby. Lani thanks her, then almost as an afterthought points out it’s not her kid. Later in the conversation, she makes another slip showing that she’s starting to think of David as hers. Laverne is confused and probably wondering why she even took a job in this town.

Later, both Eli and a visiting Valerie Grant (Vanessa Williams) both express their concern. Lani seems put off by Valerie’s input, thinking that Eli has put her up to this. What was that we were saying about having a woman who’s recently lost a baby look after one of the same name/age almost full-time? It gets even better when Lani decides to take a leave of absence from her job.

    DOOL Spoilers: Dirty politics

Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) is really taking the sleazy politician role next level now that Abe’s been catching up to him in the polls. He’s got some sneaky photos of that kiss between Abe and Sheila Watkins (Tionne Watkins) that he plans to pull out at the last debate to show what a hypocrite the competition is. Even getting some more hell from JJ earlier doesn’t deter him in his plan.

As he and Abe argue over the Hayley Chen marriage, he accuses Abe of not being transparent and ends up showing off the picture for all to see—right in front of Abe’s girlfriend. Abe’s going to have a lot of explaining to do to get out of this one, and he’s technically not even guilty of anything. Of course, this is politics, so that doesn’t really matter, right?

Abe hasn’t got time to lose in fixing this, either, as the election is supposed to be the next day. And we’re suddenly shuddering at the idea of seeing Eve flounce around town thinking she’s someone now.
