Hollywood nice guy Chris Pratt is currently under fire for making a joke about his Pixar film ‘Onward’. He wants people to vote for his film for the 2020 People’s Choice Awards. So what’s the joke? He wants people to vote for a cartoon film but amped everyone up by making it sound like it was the most important thing in history. He is, of course, mocking the extreme and overwhelming ads and calls to vote from celebrities lately.
Is it important to vote? Yes. Is his post hilarious and misleading? Yes. Take a look at his post below and let us know what you think,
“With all that’s going on in the world it is more important than ever that you vote. Just ask any celebrity. They will tell you. Every day. Several times a day. To vote. But me? I will tell you EXACTLY who to vote for. #onward The heroes before us did not spill their blood only to have their sacrifices wasted by your apathy. The upcoming 2020 People’s Choice Awards is the most consequential vote in the history of mankind times a million infinity. Vote for #Onward for family movie of the year. Or else. You WILL die. No hyperbole. Click the link in my bio. Let your voice be heard.”

Nice Guy Chris Pratt Under Fire For Joking About Voting – Promotes ‘Onward’
This has caused a stir, and frankly, I’m not entirely sure why. It seems like joking and making people giggle is now be actively fought against. Comments like, “Chris what the f@%k this ain’t it”, “I get this is supposed to be a cute little joke but it comes off as really insensitive. The upcoming election is really important and everyone should vote and for you to try and take that and turn it into an ad for your movie is low.”, “Delete this.”, and “Haha what the f@#k. This is super insensitive. Read the room. Oh wait you did and decided to mock people. Coooooooollllllll.”.
However, there were some people who came to his defense like fellow actor Ethan Hawke, “I’ll VOTE!!!!! I Promise.”, as well as several fans thanking him for giving us something to chuckle at.
What do you think? Are you bothered at all by this? Let us know in the comments below.
