British Royal Family News suggests that everyone has been asking this same question in recent weeks: will Queen Elizabeth be seen wearing a mask when she resumes her public appearances? Maybe, maybe not.
According to a new report, when the monarch heads to Balmoral Castle this summer, she plans to continue social distancing, but it’s unclear if that will extend to church services as well. The Queen often visits her favorite church in nearby Crathie Kirk, where all worshippers have been asked to wear masks during their services. Here’s what you nee to know.
British Royal Family News: Queen Elizabeth Has Another Dilemma On Her Hands
In a new interview with The Sun, Kenneth Mackenzie, the Crathie Kirk church’s minister, said that they are doing everything they can to ensure that their churchgoers remain safe and healthy at all times. He added that they also plan to participate in contact tracing, which has so far helped the country cut the number of coronavirus cases.
“We have to keep a record of who comes—everybody has to register and wear a face mask. It won’t be like it was before,” he said. “We are trying to find a way of doing services and we will try to get things up and running in the coming weeks. But as things currently stand we cannot have it like before.”
While it’s not clear if that palace is considering it safe for Queen Elizabeth to return to her place of worship, it’s been noted that other prominent royals have not been wearing their face masks in public, either. In fact, Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince William and Kate Middleton, have all attended royal engagements or have made public appearances in the past month but unfortunately are yet to be seen wearing masks. However, they have been social distancing by keeping at least six feet away from others at all times.
Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip were photographed keeping their distance from newlyweds Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi on their wedding day earlier this month.
