CBS ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ (B&B) spoilers finds that if there is one person who knows all too well all of the ups and downs that an actor goes through and especially in the soap world, it’s daytime television vet and The Bold and the Beautiful star Heather Tom.
As a matter of fact, the beautiful brunette, who is best known for her role as Katie Logan on the hit CBS soap, recently opened up about some of her struggles and how she’s trying to transition herself from her role as an actor to that of a director in the film and television industry. Here’s what she has to say.
Speaking to South Africa’s The Independent Online in a new interview, Heather admitted that being an actress in the daytime television genre sure isn’t an easy job.

She told the site, “Every day is a challenge in daytime television. We have up to 50 pages of dialogue a day and do two episodes in one workday. Just physically and emotionally to put yourself into that kind of workload takes a lot of stamina and determination. I’m really grateful to the writers, who make our stories and our characters interesting year after year. The characters evolve and surprise us. Getting the eight scripts every week is exciting because we never know what’s going to happen, just like the audience.”
Heather also opened up about how she wants to work more behind the cameras than in front of the cameras these days. She explained, “(For) a few years now, I’ve also focused on directing. After so many years as a daytime actress, it’s a challenge to get peers to see you in a different role, but that’s exciting to me as well, to be a beginner again and start all over. I guess I love challenges.”
