CBS ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ spoilers finds that, speaking to the Associated Press in a new interview, ‘Bold and the Beautiful’ executive producer and head writer Bradley Bell believes that the soap is the new pioneers in this Covid-19 television era. They were the first television series to go back into production after the coronavirus pandemic suspended filming for every aspect of Hollywood back in mid-March.

The soap opera is now doing everything they can to outwit the virus with coronavirus tests, having the cast’s spouses come on set as stand ins for touching scenes and yes, blow up dolls for those all-important intimate scenes. This way the passion is still alive without compromising all of those make up and break ups (and yes, cat fights) that the soap industry is known for. Bell told the site, “We feel almost like television pioneers all these years later because we’re the first ones out, blazing new ways of producing the shows with the current safety standards, and we’re getting the job done. It’s very exciting.”

And while it has been all full-steam ahead for the cast and crew of ‘Bold and the Beautiful’, some other soaps in the daytime television world don’t have it as easy. Days of Our Lives executive producer Ken Corday says in the same interview that they will have to be making some adjustments on their end as well. DOOL is the only daytime television show that has had enough new episodes to last them until at least October of this year. Before the pandemic, “we were producing eight, one-hour episodes a week. That’s basically 40 or 50 scenes a day,” Corday said. “That’s going to be basically impossible to reopen, so to speak, at that pace. We’re going to have to be more careful. So, will there be five shows a week, or more? Yet to be determined.”
