CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers as the second week of June kicks off, Y&R lovers are treated with some of the greatest romances to ever hit Genoa City – great by soap opera standards and chaotic by real life standards. Up first is none other than Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and his stripper-turned-wife Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott). Strap up! We are going back 24 years and getting a glimpse of some serious shoulder pads on Monday, June 8.
Victor and Nikki didn’t always have it figured out like the modern-day couple that they are now. After all, he did like to toy around with other women, including Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson). In this episode from 24 years ago, Victor has flicked off the Nikki switch and flicked on the Ashley switch. Ashley is suffering from amnesia and Victor is naturally saving the day. Victor is trying to win over Ashley and everyone seems to think she is his perfect match. After all, they both were raised in a life of wealth and luxury. Meanwhile, Nikki grew up across the tracks. Pft.
CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: A Rocky Start to Great Romances Week
Spoiler alert: he winds up with the woman from across the tracks. While Victor is courting Ashley, he gives his permission to his brother, Matt Newman (Robert Parucha) to take out Nikki. The two enjoy a cordial date – which is almost as gross as the time Victor married his daughter-in-law, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case)…but that’s still a decade or two away.
Meanwhile, Andy (Steven Ford) has had it with Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman), since she had the audacity to say that his girlfriend (who has amnesia) should find out the trust. Does everyone have amnesia in this episode? Needless to say, day one of Great Romances week was a little lacklustre. I, for one, didn’t see any great romances. However, we can assume that things will start heating up as the week goes on. What was your favorite part of yesterday’s episode?
