NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers finds that star Linsey Godfrey (Sarah Horton) is encouraging her daytime television fans to talk to their children about racism, one book at a time. Here’s what she has to say.
Sharing a photo of several African-American inspired books that include The Undefeated, Hidden Figures, and Hair Love, Linsey wrote, “Parents, it’s not just our jobs to be allies, we need to teach our children how to also be allies. To do that we have to talk about racism, our countries deep history of slavery, violence, oppression and marginalization and also systemic racism, among many other things. But we also need to show them stories highlighting black culture and art, stories of black excellence, those who created history and change. We not only have to be allies but we have to also celebrate a community for all its richness and culture.”

The actress added, “I always find reading is such a great way to start a conversation with Birdie then I get to answer her questions and if I don’t know an answer we look it up together. Of course, it didn’t take long for her fans to respond to her post. Quite a few of them left comments such as, “Your children are so very lucky to have you as a mom. You’re a beautiful soul,” along with, “I’m a huge fan now!! Sad that so many actors are scared to say something.” Another fan wrote, “Thank you! I just ordered these four. If anyone messages you with others can you please share as well? I love you on ‘Days of Our Lives’ and I love you even more after this.”
