ABC ‘General Hospital’ spoilers tease that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is having a hard time focusing on the ongoing mob wars in Port Charles right now as his father Mike’s (Max Gail) health continues to decline. In fact, the feeling is hitting Sonny like a ton of bricks. Here’s what you need to know.
Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, General Hospital co-head writer Chris Van Etten admits that things are going to get worse before they get better. He tells the publication, “At first, Sonny does not perceive a new level in Mike’s decline. To Sonny’s mind, it’s not necessarily abnormal for Mike to have had a slight physical hiccup; in this case, he had a fall and injured his wrist. And it’s not necessarily abnormal for Mike to wake up in the morning and be disoriented and to take a long time to get some form of his bearings back. But what’s different in this case, and what Sonny comes to realize thanks to commentary from Portia, and also Elizabeth, is that Mike is refusing to get out of bed, he is refusing to stand up and to try to walk.”
ABC ‘General Hospital Spoilers’: Sonny Can’t Focus On Mob Wars While Mike’s Health Is In Decline
To complicate matters even more, Sonny doesn’t know where this is all coming from. Etten further explains, “Sonny parses this out very carefully, at first thinking, ‘Well, okay, is this a function of his injury? Is he in pain and does that have something to do with it?’”
‘General Hospital’ spoilers further explain that Sonny is told by the medical professionals that this fall may have frightened Mike into not wanting to walk and that he does not have the confidence to do something that so many of us take for granted. With Mike’s health in decline and Sonny not knowing what is going to happen next, this is definitely an unnerving time in his life. He doesn’t want to lose his father but at the same time, he also doesn’t want to lose control of the streets of Port Charles.
