Mariana lied and told Amalia she needed tuition funds to get it, but circumstances made Amalia forget to bring the cash. Later on, we see the next hint there’s something serious going on.

As usual, it seems Amalia is forced to take charge. When Mariana shows up with a black eye, Amalia is furious and wants to call the cops. After the situation’s explained, she backs off and agrees to hand over the money. However, she doesn’t look happy about it. We think there’s a good chance this situation will heat up between Mariana and Amalia. Poor Amalia will try to help her sister, and the advice will fall on deaf ears. As the season drags on, we see them having a falling out, while Mariana ends up in a dangerous situation. It’s really unlikely Wilson will stay clear of trouble, so it’s inevitable there will be another situation, and Amalia will likely have to save her sister’s life. If things play out as they have on others, this will either be a turning point in the sisters’ relationship, or a tragic end to it.
