CBS ‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) go into protective dad mode over his daughter Summer Newman (Hunter King). Today he had a lunch thing with Phyllis Summers (Michele Stafford) and in it, she discussed how Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) have broken up. Nick shrugs it off, why does he care. However, turns out he should, as Phyllis tells him it probably has something to do with Summer.
Nick Newman thinks about how she didn’t come home last night. Phyllis tells him it was probably because she was with Kyle. Nick immediately shifts emotion and says he doesn’t want his daughter to be someone’s consolation prize. Kyle broke his daughter’s heart to be with Lola and now Summer’s falling right back into Kyle’s arms! You can see it eat him up inside.

CBS ‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Nick Newman Goes Into Protective Dad Mode – Doesn’t Like Kyle & Summer Together
However, Phyllis is able to reign Nick back in and talk about how she wants to support Summer. From one point of view, yes it seems silly. Although Kyle and Summer have known each other a lot longer, and it sounds like they never got over each other. Even after Kyle was married to someone else. This may just be how it’s supposed to be. Nick still seems a little unconvinced, and he obviously doesn’t want Summer with Kyle.
Phyllis tells Nick that she wants to support Summer, she’s her daughter so she will. Nick agrees. He’ll support her as well. Phyllis runs off to the bathroom, but we find out she’s secretly eavesdropping on Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) and Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway). When she returns to the table, Nick knows she was listening to them. He wants to know why, if she’s not interested in Chance is she trying to listen to them. Phyllis tells him there’s something big going on with Chance and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). At first, Nick tells her to keep him in the loop. However, due to probably thinking about Sharon Newman (Sharon Case), he tells her nevermind. There are bigger things in life. What do you think?
