‘General Hospital’ spoilers suggest that making Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) the fall guy for Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) and Curtis Ashford’s (Donnell Turner) car crash is a terrible idea.

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Brook Lynn Wasn’t Actually Drunk When She Drove

Let’s be honest, shall we? We’re all adults here. Who hasn’t had a glass or two of wine and driven somewhere? Yes, drinking and driving is irresponsible and reckless, but that’s not exactly what Brook Lynn did.

We all knew where the story was going when the camera ominously panned over to Brook Lynn’s empty wine glass in the April 7th episode of GH.

Brook Lynn didn’t want to miss Gio Palmeri’s (Giovanni Mazza) performance at the grand reopening of Charlie’s Pub. She wanted to be there to support her son in all his musical glory.

That said, we’re supposed to believe that after a glass or two of wine, Brook Lynn was “tipsy” enough to veer off the road, cause a horrific accident, not even realize it, and drive off?

Or worse? Maybe we’re supposed to think Brook Lynn knew and fled the scene of an accident. Then, she showed up at Charlie’s, acting shady.

Here’s the thing about this that ticks me off the most: We all saw Curtis and Jordan making out in the car while she was supposed to be paying attention to the road and driving.

By the way, that is very similar to texting and driving. Not a wise idea. Curtis and Jordan were canoodling like a couple of high school sweethearts on their way to the drive-in.

Not a single soap forum or spoiler I’ve seen has called their behavior into question. The reason this really pisses me off is that Brook Lynn is a character who has worked really hard to become the person she is today.

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Jordan and Curtis Were Behaving Like a Couple of Teenagers While Driving

The narrative that the soap appears to be pushing intentionally frames Brook Lynn as the prime suspect despite several illogical and ridiculous factors.

The crash itself was immediately preceded by Jordan and Curtis clearly and full-on kissing while driving, making their own distracted driving the most plausible cause of the crash.

Framing a redeemed character like Brook Lynn feels like a forced attempt to create a crumbling future for Brook Lynn, and we’ve been here before.

    Brook Lynn

It makes Brook Lynn the fall guy and sets her up to go backward, making us root for her to be caught and imprisoned, even though she was only recently approved to foster baby Phoebe with her husband, Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard).

We all know that’s why the writers chose this direction. From a storyline standpoint, Brook Lynn has the most to lose in this situation.

Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) and Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke) are just kids taking a whirlwind joyride as all teens do. Their characters’ actions can be explained by the fact that they are both teenagers.

That alone absolves them of responsibility. We saw how Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) desperately covered their tracks.

So now Brook Lynn has driven “recklessly” after a glass or two of wine and has seemingly jeopardized her entire future with little Phoebe and Chase for the sake of repetitive storytelling.

This story takes a huge risk with Brook Lynn’s character while minimizing the other drivers’ actions. I guess this means yet again, Brook Lynn is reduced to playing the villain. Ugh.
