‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers suggest that Jeremy Horton should stay in Salem, especially if Michael Roark continues to play the role.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Roark Is Set to Exit DOOL On April 29th

While Roark is set to exit DOOL on April 29th, it’s on our wish list for Roark to remain on the canvas, given his unexpected chemistry with Stephanie Johnson Kiriakis (Abigail Klein).

Jeremy was finally exonerated after several months of being accused of stalking Stephanie. Everyone in town assumed that Jeremy was guilty based on his abusive past.

Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) was especially tough on Jeremy and never listened when Jeremy tried to explain himself.

Despite Robert Scott Wilson’s good looks, Alex isn’t exactly a very compelling character, in my opinion. He’s kind of a hothead and very one-note with no real layers in between.

The scenes Klein and Roark shared when they were kidnapped had much more heart than most of the scenes I’ve seen between Klein and Wilson.

When Jeremy and Stephanie held hands, it was very sweet. Roark also brings complexity and nuance to the all-too-often misunderstood character.

Truth be told, some of Stephanie and Alex’s scenes bore me to tears. Jeremy’s shift into a changed man, burdened by a questionable past, seems genuinely earned and authentic.

Plus, in the March 31st episode of DOOL, Alex behaved like a jealous teenager toward Jeremy, which was totally uncalled for. Jeremy was warning Stephanie’s true stalker, Owen Kent (Wes Ramsey), to stay away from her.

Alex, in turn, warned Jeremy that he was now Stephanie’s husband and that he would be the one to take care of her.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Jeremy and Stephanie Have More Chemistry

The overprotective, jealous frat boy act Alex presents isn’t working for me. I much prefer the natural, soapy connection between Jeremy and Stephanie to her relationship with Alex.

Personally, I also find Jeremy’s potential redemption arc much more interesting. He is trying to be a better man, and it shows. After all, he was the one who really rescued Stephanie.

Granted, he was held hostage by Owen right along with her, but it was clear he cared enough to follow his instinct, which turned out to be correct, leading him straight to Stephanie.

Jeremy has also demonstrated a much more stable, mature personality as a teacher who cares about kids and wants to help his family.

Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Jeremy is a Horton with a Forgiving, Non-Judgemental Heart

His connection with Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) is also poignant and a treat to watch. When Julie is around Jeremy, she seems much less self-righteous and “judgey.” Julie was the only person in town who believed in Jeremy’s innocence.

She called out the incompetence of the Salem PD when they had zero proof that Jeremy was Stephanie’s stalker. Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu), who was clearly too close to the case, was practically vying for Jeremy’s hanging.

Yes, Jeremy abused Stephanie in the past, and there is no excuse for that. However, Trevor Donovan, who was the first adult actor to step into Jeremy’s shoes, didn’t have the same charisma as Roark. Donovan played Jeremy back when he was involved with Stephanie.

Plus, we need a Horton who isn’t so high-and-mighty in Salem. A Horton who isn’t so judgmental and hypocritical would be more than welcome. Jeremy fits the bill. Michael Roark is a very good actor and brings out a different side to Stephanie that may be worth exploring.
