‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers suggest that Kristen DiMera’s (Stacy Haiduk) actions may cost her custody of Rachel Black (Loreli Olivia Mote).
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Rachel’s Stay At Bayview Was the Only Reason She Wasn’t Sent to Prison
Belle Black (Martha Madison), Brady Black (Eric Martsolf), and Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) were furious when Kristen brought Rachel home from Bayview prematurely.
Rachel’s stay at Bayview was the only reason she hadn’t been sent to juvenile detention. The ten -year- old girl shot her uncle, EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel), and almost killed Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey).
That said, despite Kristen’s faults, she did what she believed was best for Rachel. When she went with Brady to Bayview to meet with the most incompetent psychiatrist in the world, Dr. Gregory (Kim Hawthorne), she correctly deduced that it wasn’t the right environment for Rachel.
Kristen was also informed about Rachel’s “friendship” with troublemaking teen, Sophia Choi (Rachel Boyd). Kristen realized that her daughter wasn’t in good hands and yanked her right out of Bayview.
Belle warned Kristen last week that her actions could have very detrimental consequences for Rachel. However, Kristen seems focused on her vision of a happy little family with Rachel and Brady.
Kristen may not be considering that her taking Rachel out of the mental facility will look irresponsible to the judge in the case.
Plus, it so happens that the judge determining Rachel’s fate is the same judge who presided over Johnny DiMera’s (Carson Boatman) trial. Judge Dabney (Karole Foreman) is fully aware of the case.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: EJ Wasn’t Going to Sacrifice His Son to Save Kristen’s Daughter
Before Johnny’s trial, EJ implored Kristen to save Johnny from prosecution, which meant that he wasn’t going to sacrifice his son to save Kristen’s daughter. That simply wasn’t an option.
So, Kristen was forced to make a choice. She selflessly sacrificed her own freedom to protect Rachel like the mama bear she is. She burst into the courtroom and made a scene, falsely confessing to shooting her brother.
However, when Kristen learned that Rachel had been sent to Bayview, she blamed EJ for forcing her to make a rash decision, since Johnny was ultimately going to be found not guilty anyway.
Rachel had been making progress at Bayview until Sophia happened. Now that Rachel is home, Brady and Belle fear the worst. Granted, Rachel is involved in intensive mental health treatment, but the judge may not think it’s enough.
Kristen and Brady also agreed to move in together for one month to help Rachel transition back into the community after spending months at Bayview sanitarium.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Kristen’s Actions May Cost Her Custody of Rachel
However, Kristen thinks she’s going to somehow end up living with Brady permanently. Rachel definitely wants her parents to reunite, but Brady has already made it clear that it’s not in the cards.
Additionally, Belle was worried that Kristen might say or do something in front of the judge that would give her cause to send Rachel away. She may even make sure its somewhere far away from Salem.
The soap may be foreshadowing that Kristen will lose her cool at the upcoming hearing, leading to Rachel being placed in another mental hospital, or even juvenile detention, which would only further traumatize Rachel.
Ultimately, Kristen’s actions and her hasty removal of Rachel from Bayview may cost her custody of her child. Not to mention, Brady and Kristen are no strangers to Child Protective Services, which has investigated the family and Rachel’s living situation before.
If Kristen fails to manage the hearing, or if Rachel acts out again, it could lead to heartbreaking consequences for Rachel. Both Kristen and Brady could lose custody of their daughter. It’s going to be interesting to see how the hearing turns out.
