Prince Harry and Meghan Markle embarked on a two-day visit to Jordan, including stops to meet with Gaza refugees and to participate in a series of humanitarian initiatives. Buckingham Palace was reported to have been informed in advance of their visit.
Abdullah II Has a Good Relationship with the British Royal Family
Some royal experts are calling their quasi-royal tour a “PR stunt” as there will be plenty of photo opportunities and time spent posing for the cameras.
According to the Daily Mail,
“Harry and Meghan landed in the capital, Amman, late on Tuesday for a royal-style tour.”
The publication also said that the couple attended an event at the residence of the King and Crown Prince of Jordan yesterday with World Health Organization officials and Embassy staff. Their appearance has been called “entirely inappropriate” by critics.
The Daily Mail pointed out,
“The current King of Jordan, Abdullah II, has strong ties to the British Royal Family and is close to King Charles, having met him on an official visit to London last year where they were pictured warmly greeting each other.”
The Daily Mail continued,
“Their relationship is so close that King Abdullah and his wife, Queen Rania, were special VVP guests at the coronation. Queen Rania also had several meetings with Queen Camilla to discuss women’s issues.”
Apparently, Prince William is also close to Crown Prince Hussein. William and his wife, Kate Middleton, attended his wedding in 2023. ‘
The Jordanians opted not to host Harry and Meghan, which makes sense given their reported closeness to William and Catherine.
Kate’s family lived in Amman during the mid-1980s, when she was a child, and William and Kate vacationed there in 2021 with their children.
Harry and Meghan Did Not Meet with King Abdullah
Harry and Meghan posted on their website that they had been invited to a special reception. It’s strange because the pair aren’t in this country on behalf of the British government. They are still delusional about being considered royals.
No meeting was scheduled between the Jordanian Royal Family and the Sussexes. King Abdullah has purposefully snubbed Harry and Meghan.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also visited a rehab center to offer words of support to people recovering from addiction. They were there to promote mental health.
Harry and Meghan also visited a refugee camp. Afterward, they met with the staff at the World Health Kitchen. The chef of the WHK was actually featured on the massive flop, which was the second season of Meghan’s Netflix series, “With Love, Meghan.”
These rogue royal visits serve only to stroke their egos, as they aren’t working royals and aren’t in a position to truly help these people.
Another source told the Daily Mail,
“The fact that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex haven’t met King Abdullah and been given the traditional royal welcome is glaringly obvious.”
Harry and Meghan were reportedly disappointed that they didn’t receive the red-carpet treatment from the Jordanian royal family.
The Sussexes don’t really lend validity to these organizations or charities. Royal experts have dubbed this a way to capitalize on the plight of the Jordanian people for a PR opportunity.
The Daily Mail also added,
“Indeed, King Abdullah appears to have deliberately swerved any public meeting with Harry and Meghan, instead choosing to meet Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.”
