‘General Hospital’ spoilers suggest that Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) appears to have some sort of twisted plan for Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison).
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Drew Is Suffering From Locked-In Syndrome
He’s suffering from locked-in syndrome and can’t speak. We have to give Katelyn MacMullen credit here. When she told Drew point-blank that she shot him, it was downright chilling.
She nailed the rage in Willow’s voice so the audience could see that she’s taking back control and she’s not messing around. MacMullen must be having so much fun playing out this sinister story.
Willow’s set-up for Drew has all the makings of a Stephen King novel. Of course, “Misery” immediately comes to mind. Some people may recall that the book was adapted into a film.
In the movie, a man is “rescued” during a snowstorm. Kathy Bates plays the fan of this famous novelist. She claims she’s “nursing him back to health,” but she’s really keeping him prisoner.
The woman (Bates) flies into a rage after reading his new manuscript and isn’t happy that he’s killed off her favorite character. She burns his work and forces him to write a new book.
The writer plots to escape this woman, who becomes increasingly unhinged, but she captures him and breaks his legs to prevent him from leaving.
Not exactly the same situation, but you get the gist. Right now, Willow has full control over Drew. Willow will undoubtedly leave Drew with no strength to fight back or recover.
She may deprive him of food or deny him visitors to maintain her hold over him. If Willow sees that Drew is trying to communicate, she may shoot him up with drugs to keep him from talking.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Willow Was Eager to Let Drew Know She’s the One Who Shot Him
Now, let us play armchair therapist for a moment. We have to wonder what’s going on in Willow’s loony- toony mind. Do her feelings of wanting revenge partly come from her time with Dawn of Day?
Willow was helpless when she was trapped in a cult, and Shiloh aka Hank Archer (Coby Ryan McLaughlin) controlled her. He raped her, and she had his baby, who tragically died, which broke Willow.
We suspect that, beneath the surface, Willow’s new obsession with controlling Drew is because of her past trauma and what Shiloh did to her.
Willow obviously blames Drew for her losing her kids, but both of them share the blame for having an affair behind Michael Corinthos’s (Rory Gibson) back.
That said, it looks like “Dark Willow” may be past the point of redemption. Her arrangement to “take care” of her husband is obviously a ruse to torture him.
She was also eager to let Drew know that she’s the one who shot him. Willow wants Drew to know that he’s the one who’s helpless now, and there is nothing he can do.
Drew’s mind is crystal clear, but he can’t protest whatever fresh hell Willow unleashes on him. He can’t scream for help or tell her to stop. She definitely wants to see him suffer.
Frankly, the whole situation is terrifying. We have to wonder how long it will take for Willow to be punished for her crimes. It looks like, for the foreseeable future, Drew is in Willow’s extremely vengeful hands.
