‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Will Jack Save Nick from His Pain Pill Addiction the Same Way He Helped Nikki?

‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers suggest Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) may save Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) from his pain-pill addiction, as he did for Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott).

‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Nick Has Been Pushing Himself Too Hard

Nick left the hospital against the doctor’s advice, and inevitably, he put his health at serious risk. He recently had surgery for a broken leg after surviving a car accident caused by Matt Clark (Roger Howarth).

Nick has been pushing himself to be there for the family after not only the debacle with Matt, but also the downfall of Victor Newman’s (Eric Braden) company, courtesy of Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford).

His quick return to physical activity and the stress he must be feeling will undoubtedly contribute to a pain pill addiction. Nick has shown all the signs of dependency after snapping at Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun) and even Sharon Newman (Sharon Case).

It seemed like his pain was so intense that he could barely even tolerate the shortest bit of time without a pain pill. People with an addiction tend to get jumpy and agitated when they can’t get their fix.

We also saw Nick pull a baggie of strange pills out of his pocket that didn’t look like standard pain pills from the doctor. It actually looked like the same Fentanyl that Matt tried to force Noah Newman (Lucas Adams) to take.

If Nick goes into withdrawal, should the doctor opt not to write him another script, he may be tempted to take these mysterious pills.

We can clearly see that Nick is spiraling out of control. Plus, given Nikki’s history with alcoholism, it’s highly possible that Nick inherited the addiction gene.

‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Victor Won’t Tolerate Jack’s Interference In His Family’s Drama

Enter Jack. Remember Jack and Nikki’s night at the hotel when Nikki was spiraling, and Jack decided to take a bunch of pills?

It was a tactic he used to scare Nikki sober, and he took enough pills almost to kill himself. He succeeded in helping Nikki, which Victor is still furious about to this day.

In fact, Victor brings it up in nearly every fight with Jack. We can only imagine his fury if Jack also saves Nick from the tragic fate of addiction.

Jack once had an addiction himself, but he did the hard work to clean up his act. If anyone is qualified to help someone see through to the other side, it’s Jack.

Plus, Jack still cares about Nick, and he wouldn’t want to see him, or anyone for that matter, drowning themselves in their drug of choice.

Jack being Nick’s savior would truly make Victor’s head explode. The idea that Jack can help Victor’s family in a way that Victor never could has eaten away at him for years.

Spoilers indicate that Jack and “the Mustache” will soon form an unlikely alliance to stop Cane’s AI software from infecting their companies.

We predict that the alliance will be short-lived, considering all the bad blood between the two men and how much they loathe each other.

That said, Victor won’t be grateful to Jack for bringing Nick back from the brink. Instead, he’ll use it as an excuse to crush him.
