‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers here and we’re ready to keep things rolling with some fun spoilery goodies to share.
The episode for Thursday, January 8 looks like it’ll be a repeat with a twist.
Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) has the chance to be a hero when he brings Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) in.
It’ll give Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) an idea, and he’ll call Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) to make a deal.
Maybe they’re trying to lull the few who still care to sleep for a shock when Matt is killed or escapes again?
For roughly the fourth or fifth time in the last couple of months, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will try to convince Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) to join her.
She’ll want him to become Dumas again and take over the world with her. The best part is he’ll get a text from one of his kids to stop trying to contact them.
Maybe now he’ll realize Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) doesn’t want him and Phyllis just wants to use him. We doubt he’s that smart.
Oddly enough, both these storylines have fans walking away from the show, according to their social media comments. Could we see a much needed shift coming?

‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers are curious if Jack and Victor making a deal for an exchange of the AI for Matt will be the whimpering end of this storyline.
It could be, but we expect a final flourish by Matt that will result in him being killed.
After dragging this one out and into its third act like usual, we doubt the writers will let it end on a calm note. The whimper already came.
There is a chance Victor will have a copy of the AI and have it stolen by Cane and Phyllis. We hope this will end and we can move on, but we have a feeling it won’t be that simple.

Can we just forget Cane came back to Genoa City? With Phyllis once again trying to convince him to join her, we have no doubt he will this time.
It’s his best chance to get the AI from Victor and get some revenge. And now that his kids are cutting all ties thanks in part to Lily, he has nothing else to lose.
It feels like he’s being set up to take Victor’s place as the show’s Big Bad. It also feels like he’s falling upwards due to the horrendous storylines we’ve had to deal with.
The show brought in great talent and the writing failed them. A shift needs to happen, and maybe once these are all wrapped up the change will come.
