Elizabeth “Libby” Castravet has broken her silence a week after announcing the heartbreaking death of her father, Chuck Potthast. The 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? star opened up to followers on Instagram, sharing how she’s been coping and asking fans for advice as she navigates grief for the first time.
Season 9 recently wrapped with Libby and Andrei still solid in their marriage, despite the heavy family drama that unfolded on-screen this year. Now, however, the couple is facing an entirely different challenge off-camera.
Asking Fans How To Cope With Grief
In her post, Libby revealed she feels unsure of how to process such a major loss and admitted she’s struggling to balance everyday life with overwhelming emotion.
She explained that she and Andrei are trying to keep life as normal as possible for their children, especially during the holiday season, but confessed she often feels guilty attempting to enjoy anything right now:
“I’ve never had to navigate something quite as difficult as grief before… I try to smile and feel better but honestly deep down I’m hurting. What are some ways you’ve dealt with grief and what helped you get through?”
Former cast member Kimberly Menzies, who famously lost her mother while filming the franchise, left an emotional comment encouraging Libby to take things slowly and reminding her she’s available if Libby ever needs support.

Libby’s update felt especially vulnerable, considering she openly shared during Happily Ever After? that she and Andrei have stepped away from much of her family due to ongoing tension.
