‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers love how the soap world is such a close knit community.
We get to see our favorite actors move to new roles and new actors get their chance.
It can also be frustrating when we’ve grown attached to a certain actor or even writer of a show.
Every now and then, we get little nuggets that are more entertaining than we expected. And when it’s something from behind the scenes that can outshine the show, it’s one to remember.
Often, those are situations no one wants, like an actor passing away, having legal troubles, or some other issue real life throws at them.
But on ‘The Young and the Restless’, there’s an interesting storyline behind the scenes that may slip under the radar.
This involves the influx of actors the show recently made for a new storyline.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Not intended?
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers noticed fans have long lamented the often boring and lazy writing in the show and how storylines are stretched out way too long.
It’s for that reason we wonder if their current storyline in Los Angeles was planned to mimic other shows or was accidental.
On the surface, it seems too clever and almost has to be an accident. That makes them a purposeful nod and homage, right?
We’ll leave that debate for later. Let’s dive into the easter egg linking all the shows.
Alrighty, let’s get a flow charts ready and dive in!

‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Relationship dynamics
Every soap is built on the relationship dynamics between the characters, and so is behind the scenes in this case. And their homage story is more entertaining than the final product.
Noah Newman (Lucas Adams) has a girlfriend (es-girlfriend?) named Allie. When the actor played Tripp Johnson on ‘Days of Our Lives’ he had a girlfriend there named Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold).
As Noah, he is currently having an affair with Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun). She was his mother, Ava Vitalii, on ‘DOOL’.
The shows have plenty of incestuous moments, so why not, right?
Seinna is married to Mitch Bacall/Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) is a borderline homicidal psychopath. Roger played a homicidal psychopath on ‘General Hospital’ names Franco Baldwin.
Franco had a tumor that caused him to be a killer. Mitch/Matt has no such excuse and will try to kill Noah for being with Sienna.
Roger Howarth also tends to play characters who are killed off, so we expect that to carry over with Mitch/Matt.
It’s a cool pattern we noticed and thought how cool it’d be if this was an actual storyline somewhere. Like maybe a behind the scenes type of show if not a soap storyline.
What do you think about the interconnectivity between the shows like this? Do you come up with your own story ideas for why certain characters appear or look for these ties?
