Meghan Markle laughably sashayed in an oversized white ensemble and cape as she appeared in Europe for the Balenciaga fashion show in Paris.
It’s Meghan’s “Zoolander Moment”
It’s one of the most hideous outfits we’ve seen on the Duchess of Sussex. It either resembled a Pope’s outfit or something one would wear during Halloween to dress up as a ghost.
Royal experts say that this was Meghan’s “Zoolander moment.” Honestly, one could achieve the same effect by wearing a pillowcase.
Interestingly, she refuses to travel to Europe with Prince Harry and her children, yet she is able to attend a fashion show in Paris. It marked her very first appearance at Paris Fashion Week.
Meghan previously attended New York and Toronto Fashion Weeks during the time she worked as an actress on the legal soap, Suits.
Apparently, Meghan was at the show with her celeb pal, Tracy Ellis Ross. Designer Pierpaolo Piccioli created the custom piece she wore.
She appeared alongside other celebrities, including Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Anne Hathaway. Meghan is all about the PR.
People magazine said,
“She has long admired Pierpaolo’s craftsmanship and modern elegance, and tonight was no different. This evening reflects the culmination of many years of artistry and friendship, reflected in her support for this new creative chapter of Balenciaga.”
Balenciaga’s Offensive Campaign Exploiting Children
Unsurprisingly, Prince Harry was not with Meghan at the fashion show. Truthfully, if this ghost-like outfit is the best she got, then she’s not all that important to the designer.
For dinner last night, the Duchess wore a black dress by Pierpaolo. On another point of interest, Balenciaga is the luxury fashion house that, in November 2022, released a highly offensive social media ad campaign that featured children cuddling with teddy bears and dressed in bondage gear.
One child is even pictured with some empty wine glasses. In the ad, children were wearing the Balenciaga Kids Line.
Meghan, who is supposedly an advocate for children’s internet safety, is now supporting this fashion house.
It seems a bit hypocritical and in poor taste for her to be preaching about children’s safety on the internet on the one hand and, on the other, attending a highly prominent fashion show that advertised this smut.
Balenciaga apologized for the advertisement, but social media users were too shocked and disgusted to accept an apology. Many people were outraged by the fashion house’s decision to sexualize children.
Meghan’s Highly Offensive Ode To Princess Diana
Additionally, Meghan has also been slammed for sharing a video on her Instagram page during her visit to Paris.
The Duchess posted the video of herself nonchalantly putting her feet up inside the car she was riding in as it drove past the bridges Pont Alexandre III and the Pont des Invalides.
According to the Daily Mail,
“The next bridge along the Seine is the Pont d’Alma tunnel where Princess Diana and her boyfriend, Dodi Fayed, and driver Henri Paul, died in August 1997.”
Royal experts and fans called Meghan “thoughtless and bewilderingly tasteless.” Critics on social media expressed their distaste over Meghan’s choice to share this video.
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams dubbed the post
“utterly bewildering, beyond stupid, and insensitive beyond belief.”
Fitzwilliams told the Daily Mail,
“I don’t know what she was thinking, well, she can’t have been thinking. No advisor would ever advise doing something so strange.”
He continued,
“She has every right to go to fashion events, but to share a video which had any connections to the tragic death of the Princess of Wales defies belief.”
Fitzwilliams added,
“I’m sure she didn’t mean to cause offense; she can’t have been thinking, but it’s insensitive beyond belief. It’s a complete absence of thought.”
He concluded,
“Diana’s death is a tragedy that has scarred so much of Harry’s life, and I can’t imagine he would find this very appropriate.”
