‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers share that Kelly Thiebaud, who plays firecracker Britt Westbourne on the soap, recently dished to Woman’s World about her recent transition from London to California and back to GH.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Britt Started Off On GH As A Villain
Following Thiebaud’s tragic exit from GH in January 2023, she moved across the pond to London to be with the man in her life.
Thiebaud lived in London for about a year and a half. She said she “fell in love with the city.” She explained,
“When you live in a different country, it helps you grow as a person. You get to know yourself, so I was starting to feel so good, and then unfortunately, I had to leave.”
However, the actress celebrated her birthday in London at the end of August. She wants to visit the city whenever she’s free. She added,
“I still have a work visa over there, and I don’t want that to go to waste.”
Thiebaud also recently went back to London to pack up her belongings. Thiebaud posted some scenic images of London on her Instagram.
However, the relationship didn’t work out, and GH fans desperately missed “The Britch.” Viewers saw super couple potential for Britt and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton).
Yet, the pair never got the shot at love they deserved. Jason was presumed dead in November 2021 in a tunnel collapse.
Britt started off on the soap as a major villain who stole Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Breuning) and Dante Falconeri’s (Dominic Zamporgna) embryo.
She gave birth to Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr), the son of Lulu and Dante. Yet, over time, fans saw past Britt’s shortcomings and ultimately forgave and fell in love with Britt.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Thiebaud And Burton Felt There Was “Unfinished Business Between Britt And Jason
Britt “died” a hero when she saved Josslyn Jacks’ (Eden McCoy) life and intervened in an attack from “the Hook.” Britt allegedly passed away in her mother, Liesl Obrecht’s (Kathleen Gati) arms.
Thiebaud shared, “I was getting messages on my social media about how much people missed the character.”
The actress admitted that the last time she was on GH, she felt that Britt finally achieved redemption. The Huntington’s disease storyline also humanized Britt.
About reprising her role on GH, she gushed,
“People have just been so welcoming and happy to have me back, so it’s just been a wonderful, full-circle experience. I feel very lucky.”
The actress divulged,
“I knew if I did come back, I didn’t want to play Britt’s evil twin or another character.”
She explained,
“I wanted it to be Britt initially, I didn’t think that was going to be possible, because we did choose to kill her off! I was also kind of afraid to open that door again. Will the magic still be there?”
Thiebaud also expressed that she and Burton felt there was a lot of unfinished business between their characters,
“We gave viewers something that started to become interesting, exciting, and maybe romantic, and then it got taken away from everyone.”
She admitted,
“We want to give that back to them.” Thiebaud also made it a point to say that the first day she saw Burton on set, the two of them hugged. “I felt at that moment, this is going to be a really fun ride.”
