September 8th marks the anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death, and it is hard to believe that the longest-reigning monarch in history has now been gone for three years.
William And Kate Made An Appearance At The National Federation Of Women’s Institutes
Kate Middleton made a surprise appearance today with Prince William at the National Federation of Women’s Institutes in Sunningdale, Berkshire.
The Princess of Wales was not at first expected at the outing but decided to join William in honoring the late Queen.
Kate looked stylish and elegant as always, wearing a three-quarter-sleeve black and white checkered dress from Alexandra Rich for the occasion.
Over tea and cake, William listened to stories of the Queen and shared some memories of his beloved grandmother.
The Queen passed away in 2022 at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. She was a member of the Women’s Institute for 80 years and functioned as its president from 2003 until her passing.
She regularly made appearances at the annual January meeting while staying in Norfolk for the Christmas holiday. The sweet tribute to the Queen highlighted her generous support in countless worthy causes.
The Women’s Institute is the UK’s most prominent organization. Her late Majesty was a major participant in the organization.
For the WI’s 100th anniversary in 2015, the Queen hosted a nationwide celebration, which included a garden party at the palace for the members of the Women’s Institute.
The Queen Was An Active Member Of The Organization
Her Majesty also gave a poignant speech at the annual meeting, which was held at Royal Albert Hall. In her address, she spoke about the significant social changes for women in society since 1915.
The Queen also praised the Women’s Institute for its commitment to promoting women’s education and talent.
During the visit, the Prince and Princess of Wales met with members from Berkshire and beyond to learn how the organization encourages connections and promotes positive change within the community.
William and Kate also listened to the members of the organization speaking of the Queen’s impact on the Women’s Institute.
Some of the women William and Kate met also knew the late Queen personally. They shared stories about their interactions with the Queen.
The royal couple also chatted with support staff and trustees from across the Berkshire Federation of Women’s Institutes, hearing how the organization has provided women with numerous opportunities.
The anniversary of the Queen’s death coincides with Prince Harry’s visit to the UK. This trip is his first to Britain in five months.
Prince Harry Visited The Queen’s Grave As She Rests Peacefully At St. George’s
Harry made the journey from sunny Montecito, California, to attend the WellChild awards in London on Monday evening.
The Duke of Sussex visited his late grandmother’s grave to commemorate the third anniversary of her passing. She’s resting peacefully at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
Harry was last seen in the UK in April when he lost his legal case over his downgraded security. He wanted the British Government to assign him additional protection, which the taxpayers would pay for.
The Duke was receiving complete publicly funded police protection provided by the state before he left the UK.
The court ruled a hard “no” against Harry’s request, much to the Prince’s frustration and dismay. Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, stepped down as working associates of the royal family in January 2020.
However, Harry was seen being dropped off by a Metropolitan officer from the Royalty and Specialist Protection Squad, which means he’s receiving some level of protection.
William and Harry are not expected to meet during this visit. There is also some speculation over whether Harry will reunite with King Charles.
