‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers indicate that Kristen DiMera (Stacey Haiduk) has made a huge mistake in confessing to a crime she didn’t commit.
‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Rachel Won’t Understand Why Her Mom Didn’t Tell The Truth Sooner
Kristen made the ultimate maternal sacrifice for Rachel Black (Alice Halsey). She went to prison to protect her daughter from the trauma of realizing that she shot her uncle, EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel).
What Kristen has done in sacrificing her own freedom to keep Rachel safe demonstrates the depth of her love as a mother and the lengths she’s willing to go to protect her.
Typically, Kristen is selfish and only out for herself. However, Kristen’s false confession was the most selfless act we’ve ever seen from her.
Even Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) was visibly moved by Kristen’s unwavering courage and determination to spare Rachel the trauma of figuring out what she had done in the worst possible way.
However, we also learned from Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) that Johnny would have been found not guilty of attempted murder, which renders Kristen’s confession heartbreakingly unnecessary.
Rachel’s intense trauma is suppressing her memories from that fateful night EJ was shot. That said, Rachel despised taking the stand at the trial.
Rachel is going to think her mom forced Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) to suffer through a stressful trial and almost go to prison when Kristen was the shooter all along.
The ten-year-old will no doubt struggle to understand why her mom allowed her to testify against Johnny when Kristen was the guilty party.
The example she’s setting for Rachel is also a dangerous one. Kristen is making her daughter believe that her mother committed a heinous act of violence against her own brother.
‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Rachel Was Already Separated From Kristen For Years
Rachel may also feel more pain without her mom than she would if she learned she was the culprit. The whole situation is bound to be confusing for Kristen’s little girl.
Separation due to her mother’s imprisonment is going to affect Rachel in ways Kristen can’t even imagine. Plus, Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) is furious with Kristen; he may not even let Rachel see her.
Taking Rachel away from her mother will obviously break Rachel’s heart. Rachel had already been separated from Kristen for years during her mother’s last stint at the Statesville prison.
Rachel’s true wish is for her parents to get back together, so she can have the family she has always dreamed of. Plus, when Rachel discovers later that she’s the one who really pulled the trigger on EJ, it will send her spiraling into inconsolable guilt.
Remember how she had tummy aches, crying spells, and nightmares when she thought Johnny was the shooter? It will be small potatoes compared to Rachel realizing that she almost killed her uncle EJ.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Eventually, Rachel Will Remember The Truth
Since Rachel will inevitably remember the truth anyway, it was pointless for her to confess. While it was incredibly stoic to announce in front of everyone in the packed courtroom that she committed attempted murder, the truth always comes out on soaps.
Marlena vowed to Kristen that once Rachel remembers, she’ll make sure that Rachel gets the help she needs. However, what good will it do if she’s drowning in guilt over her mother taking the fall for her?
We predict that in the end, Rachel will confess. If there is anything about this mess that rings true, it is the depth of the mother-daughter bond that Kristen and Rachel share.
