General Hospital spoilers hint that it looks like Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) may start up a forbidden romance with ADA Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor).
Let’s face it: Sonny is long overdue for a love interest. He hasn’t had a real relationship since he was married to Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros).
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Justine Has A “Brenda Barrett Vibe”
Natalia Rameriz (Eva LaRue) doesn’t really count, as many fans detested the character. However, some fans hope that Sonny’s subtle flirtation with the ADA turns into more.
We can see it. Justine sort of has a Brenda Barrett (Vanessa Marcil) vibe. Plus, it wouldn’t be the first time that Sonny was drawn to an attractive female in law enforcement.
Longtime viewers may recall that Sonny was romantically involved with a woman named Hannah Scott (Lisa Vultaggio) for a brief period. She looked somewhat like Brenda, and Sonny was smitten.
Hannah was an FBI agent who was assigned to set Sonny up and put him behind bars. She went undercover and ultimately under the sheets with Sonny.
We can also see the chemistry between Sonny and Justine. Recently, we’ve started to enjoy their scenes together.
Granted, ADA Turner wants to put him in prison due to his illegal activities and infamous criminal empire.
That said, it’s inevitable that the most powerful mobster in Port Charles will win over the formidable, determined Acting District Attorney.
We can see her succumb to his charm and irresistible dimples. In fact, we already see it starting to happen.
Sonny helped Justine when she was injured during a softball game and teased her about her lack of skills. She also recently visited Sonny’s home to ask him to stop sending her gifts.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: ADA Turner Is Seeing A Different Side To Sonny
Sonny’s adorable daughter, Donna Corinthos (Scarlett Spears), asked Justine to stay for pizza. Sonny told her he makes his own pizza, which impressed the ADA.
She was reluctant to stay but ended up enjoying herself. As they say, Chef’s kiss! Afterward, Congressman Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) showed up, obviously uninvited, and tried to blackmail the dimpled don.
He thought he could coerce Sonny into convincing Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) to allow Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) to see their kids.
Drew also made it a point to tell Sonny that he had just provoked Michael into assaulting him at the Metro Court.
Of course, Justine overheard the whole conversation as she was hiding in another room, listening intently.
When Drew made his exit, she reappeared and told Sonny that the sleazy politician wouldn’t get away with his devious plot.
It was entertaining to watch Drew try to press charges against Michael, and there wasn’t one witness who would admit that Michael punched Drew.
Whether she’ll admit it or not, Justine is starting to like Sonny. It may be against her better judgment, but she’s definitely intrigued by him.
She’s seen another side of Sonny, and it’s making her pause her attempt to bring the mobster down.
The idea of Sonny and Justine falling for each other is a familiar formula we’ve seen on GH before. However, it’s also very soapy, and it could work.
