Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that in the July 9th episode of Days, Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) and Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) reconnect.
‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Xander Is Impressed With Gwen’s Newfound Wealth
Xander and Sarah Horton Kiriakis (Linsey Godfrey) have separated and are embroiled in a bitter custody battle over little Victoria (Amelia and Kennedy Hileman).
Meanwhile, Xander and Gwen share a complicated history. Gwen showed up in Salem as Jack Deveraux’s (Matthew Ashford) estranged daughter.
She struggled to find the acceptance she craved and sought comfort through a friendship with Xander. He was heartbroken as he believed that Sarah was dead.
The two of them grew close, and their bond soon turned into romance. Gwen has returned to town a confident, wealthy woman, and it seems that Xander is drawn to her.
In today’s episode, Gwen saw Xander drinking alone at the Bistro and seized the opportunity to offer him some company.
He was very impressed that she scored Dimitri von Leuschner’s (Peter Porte) inheritance, and they toasted to her having tricked Dimitri out of his fortune.
Conversely, Xander recounted how he came into his own when he discovered that he was Victor Kiriakis’s (John Aniston) son.
The two of them continued talking, and Gwen admitted that his love for Sarah always made her feel insecure over her past relationship with him.
She claimed that it was her jealousy and insecurity that prompted her to help Kristen DiMera (Stacey Haiduk) with her kidnapping plot against Sarah.
With everything that Gwen did to Sarah, it’s shocking that Xander would even give Gwen the time of day. However, Xander isn’t exactly thrilled with Sarah right now.
‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Gwen Boldly Kissed Xander And Invited Him To Her Hotel Room
After a couple of drinks at the Bistro, the two of them walked out into Horton Square as Gwen had asked Xander to walk her back to her hotel suite. They were both clearly somewhat intoxicated.
Gwen boldly stole a kiss from Xander. He didn’t pull away like we anticipated. In fact, he kissed her right back.
However, Xander told Gwen that he had to go. Gwen was very forward in responding, “Yes, back to my hotel room.” Days spoilers indicate that they may end up in bed together.
We have to wonder if Xander will get caught up with Gwen again. It would certainly further damage his marriage to Sarah. However, Xander is currently at odds with his wife.
He may be curious to explore the obvious attraction between him and Gwen. Unfortunatley, Gwen screwed up their past relationship due to her jealousy of Sarah. This time may be different.
Elsewhere in the episode, Sarah had her own doubts. She spoke with Bonnie Lockhart (Judi Evans), and Sarah told her about the run-in she had with Xander.
The conversation led up to the point where Bonnie asked her if her marriage to Xander was even worth saving.
We have a feeling that when Sarah sees that Gwen is back in town, she’ll hit the roof. If Sarah finds out about Gwen and Xander’s passionate encounter, it will further complicate matters between Xander and Sarah. Since Xander is in a vulnerable condition, we have to wonder if Xander takes the bait.
