Prince Harry’s childhood priest, Revd Angela Tilby, has called out the Duke of Sussex for playing the victim and claims Prince Harry’s actions have alienated him from his family.
The Priest Said Harry Needs To “Forgive With His Heart”
The priest, who attended the funeral of Princess Diana and also spoke from the pulpit to Prince Harry at Eton College, has encouraged him to “shed the role of victimhood.”
Tilby was present when Diana’s brother, Earl Spencer, condemned the royal family for their treatment of Diana and vowed to protect her two young sons, Prince Harry and Prince William.
She knows Harry and William heard the applause rising from outside the church, and Harry may have felt that a “revolution was imminent. Yet the moment has passed,” she declared.
Tilby warned Harry that he’s worsened the rift between himself and his family. Tilby wrote a piece for the Church Times called “A sermon that Prince Harry should heed.”
In the article, she admitted,
“I grieve for that ginger-topped teenager I once preached to. I believe that he is a decent man. But, so far, he has found no way to switch off the trauma in his head.”
“What he might have picked up by attending morning service in Eton Chapel was that forgiveness involves not only making peace with the offender, but eventually, and at a great cost, giving up the role of victimhood,”
Tilby explained.
“The latter is far harder, far more demanding, and in the end, far more important.”
Angela Tilby is Canon Emeritus of Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford, and Honorary Chaplain at Portsmouth Cathedral.
Tilby advises Harry to forgive with his heart, as she questions whether he has truly forgiven King Charles and his family over Megxit. Only when Harry follows Christ’s teachings will he ever find liberation.
Prince Harry’s Conduct Is Like “The Little Boy Who Was Forced To Walk Behind His Mother’s Coffin”
The priest said that Prince Harry’s decision to pursue his case against RAVEC for taxpayer-funded security senselessly sounds like it comes from the little boy who was “forced to walk behind his mother’s coffin.”
Harry’s fixation with disparaging his family shows that he hasn’t yet come into adulthood emotionally. He still hasn’t appropriately worked through his grief and trauma. Instead, he chose to take drugs to try to cope with the loss of his mother. He admitted his drug use in his controversial tell-all memoir, “Spare.”
Harry took marijuana, cocaine, and magic mushrooms, which he said made him feel “different,” which is precisely why he wanted to escape, to feel anything other than the pain of the death of Princess Diana.
“Spare” not only trashed his family but also served to fuel Harry’s feelings of perpetual victimhood. Calling himself a spare was clearly a bid for attention and pity. Harry claimed that the only reason he was born was “in case anything happened to Willy.”
His recent BBC interview, in which he insinuated that his father, King Charles, could intervene and help him have his police protection reinstated, was a sign that he hasn’t been able to overcome his self-imposed identity as the victim since he was a child.
Harry also revealed that he would not bring his wife, Meghan Markle, and children, Archie and Lilibet, back to the UK.
Prince Harry’s court case has him seething and furious about losing. “And that is rarely the best time to air your thoughts,” the priest said.
