‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers suggest that Phyllis Newman (Michelle Stafford) is right for blasting her so-called BFF. Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) is providing legal representation to the woman who killed the love of her son, Daniel Romalotti’s (Michael Graziadei) life. She framed him for the murder and ran Phyllis off the road.
‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Phyllis Was Shocked Michael Is Sharon’s Lawyer
Granted, the one crime Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) is guilty of is framing Daniel, but Phyllis truly believes she committed all these crimes. Not to mention, she confessed.

When Phyllis found out that Michael was defending Sharon, she was understandably hurt, shocked, and beyond livid. We know that much of the time, Phyllis is a schemer and is over the top. However, we’re definitely on her side on this one.
Michael made an odd comment that he took an oath as a lawyer to defend people. Also, as an attorney, he must abide by a strict set of rules.
However, Michael is a private attorney and can cherry-pick the cases he feels passionate about. Why would he passionately defend someone who tried to kill his best friend?
Phyllis told Michael this was an act of betrayal, which we agreed with. Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) is another head-scratcher.

We get that “Shick” is endgame, and they will always love each other and have each other’s backs. That being said, when Sharon admitted what she did, after months of Phyllis trying to tell everyone around her that Sharon was guilty, Nick should have been furious.
If anyone else had confessed to these heinous crimes against people whom Nick claims to love, he would have been repulsed by them. Nick fully believes that Sharon is an angel who can do no wrong.
Nick and Michael both seem to think Sharon’s issues with her medicine are a viable excuse when it’s her fault she wasn’t taking it.
‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Certain Characters Are Always Forgiven No Matter What
We get that Phyllis isn’t a saint by any means, but Sharon has done some questionable things as well. She burned down Victor Newman‘s (Eric Braden) and Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) ranch home in October 2012, which was only recently rebuilt.

Bipolar disorder isn’t an excuse for that kind of behavior. If we were Phyllis, we’d be infuriated with Michael insisting that he needs to be the one to take her case.
For all Michael knows, Sharon is guilty of three significant crimes involving Phyllis and her family, and now Michael is cutting her slack. Sharon knowingly framed Daniel. That would be a dealbreaker for us.
Unfortunately, certain characters are forgiven no matter what they do.

While it’s not far-fetched that Nick would care about the mother of his children, Phyllis is also the mother of one of his children. Nick doesn’t know that Sharon is innocent, and Phyllis could have died.
We all knew the soap would go in the direction it was going and make Sharon not guilty. It’s a lazy way to redeem Sharon and an easier story for TPTB to write. Heaven forbid Y&R explored Sharon’s dark side.
